Hello Everyone,

I meant to post yesterday but was gone from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm so I didn't get on the computer!

I've lost 8 pounds.  I truly feel as though I am in control and can get to my goal weight!  I "allowed" myself a "free" day yesterday because I was seeing a friend I hadn't seen in a long time.  It was funny but I still wanted to follow the rules!  So I ended up saying I'd have one free meal.  And I really wish I hadn't.  I made my stomach hurt!  I chose the grilled salmon (good) but it came with bread, salad, and a side of pasta.  I ate half the salad, two (small) pieces of bread, and 2 bites of the pasta.  I also drank a diet coke.  I felt really  yucky.  Looking back, if I'd only had one piece of bread and skipped the diet coke, I'd have been alright.

Anyday, today I'm back too 100% committment and I'm very excited!  My mom is still doing great!  I don't know how much she's lost but she was sticking with it yesterday!  I'll post periodically on my progress and I really look forward to reading everyone elses!

The 5 Day Pouch Test has been an answered prayer for me!!!

Congratulations on your fantastic results! I made it through day 1 with no problems. I did have a slight headache however. I am drinking a cup of decah hot tea now and will do a protien shake after while. I feel no hunger. Thanks for the motivation!

Keep at it!  You will be so happy with the results!  There were days I didn't feel great either.  Do you normally drink caffeine?  I didn't try to limit that but ended up not drinking my usual diet soda...

Since you've already made it through day 1 (and you probably don't want to do it again), you can make it through today and look foward to eggs and tuna tomorrow!  That's what got me through each day - thinking of what I could have the next!

Good Luck!!!

Laina, Thanks for your results post!  I, too, just finished Day 5 yesterday; I lost 6 lbs. as of this morn.  I was fully "on" for Days 1 & 2 and most of Day 3, but then I went out of town and had to just do the best I could wherever I was, and I managed to do pretty well--esp. considering I had LOTS of temptations!  My main victory while being gone was always eating some good-quality protein first, not giving in to any junk or questionable carbs and--most of all--keeping my portions the size they should be.   I am feeling so much better, physically and mentally, and most definitely will do my darndest to stay on track now.  The rewards of eating the way I should are so-o-o much better than giving in to the old compulsive, addictive habits--it's just crazy that I give in to the lure of that immediate pleasure! Unlike some who have done the 5 -day test, I can't say that I feel 100% in control.  (Of course, I didn't do it 100% perfectly either.)  I still feel like I could eat something crappy at the drop of a hat, but with what I've just accomplished, I definitely feel like I can continue to eat the way I should instead.  For me, it's truly one day at a time, but at least I am happy and proud that I did "my version" of it and am back on track. P.S.  I especially prayed my way through each day!

Always,
Jo

I am right there with you!  I thank God every successful day.  I realize I'm only a "grab" away as I pour out nacho cheese Doritos for my son.  I've even dreamed of them is you read my post earlier this week. But each day, I feel stronger and it's progress not perfection!  I am very excited! Take care! Laina

Laina, I have a question. I am on day three, Do I drink liquid protein at all? It says day three soft proteins only. I am assuming that I just have the eggs, fish, chicken cottage cheese? Are we done with soups and jello's? Only water???

I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE MADE IT TO DAY THREE. I AM SO EXCITED.

Thank you

That's fantastic!!! I finished yesterday and feel great too! So what's the plan now?? Will you go back to a normal post op diet, like back to basics?? Still watch serving sizes?? What about calories?? Do you think you will do the 5 days over again at some point?? I'm feeling a little nervous about not having such a strict plan to follow now!
