Any one with a banded RNY/fobi pouch

I heard rumor that the band used on the fobi pouch or banded RNY(however you prefer to term it) is suppose to help decrease weight regain.  Does anyone know if that is true?  I'm thinking it would be a good safety net but I wouldn't want to go through it if it is only hype.  Believe it or not there ar doctors in my state (that I know of) who perform the procedure.  Many of them don't even know what the fobi pouch is.

My mother has one.  She is 7 years out and has regained a considerable amount.  She also vomits all the time so I think the band hurts more than it helps.

Megan, Who did your mom's surgery and is she trying to get a revision since she vomits a lot and have regained a lot or weight?

It was done in DC by Dr. Afram in 2000.  She is meeting with a local doctor next month to explore her options.
