bikini season--how do you handle surgery scars

i know it's out of season question and very superficial but here it is: i was clother shopping the other day and saw a few really cute bikinis on an end-of-season clearance rack for next-to-nothing. trying one on  revealed that even though i still am 26 lbs from my personal goal of 115, i look pretty good in size 6  two-pieces for the first time in 4 years. the only weird thing is my 4 LAP RNY scars are, of course clearly visible in a 2-piece. not sure if i should just parade around as is or whether it looks strange and i should get used to the idea of wearing 1-piece bathing suites for the rest of my life.   i'm so used to my scars they don't seem particularly ugly to me but will they look weird on the beach, etc.? i was curious as to what the rest of you ladies do

Buy the bikini!!! I just had a lower body lift 7 weeks ago and my scars will show, but I want to wear a bikini(haven't worn one since I was 5 years old!!) My MOM bought me it when we went shopping for new clothes. I can't wait to wear it next year. I'm can't wait to buy more. My scars are going to show, but I'm not that vain, it was worth the 180 pounds weight loss!!! From 299 down to 119 pounds, yay for me!!

I had a LBL and many of the bottoms cover my scars.

thank you so much for responding!!! never mind the bikini scar question, i want to be 119 just like you, that is amazing!!! i bet you look absolutely killer in a bikini. i'm taking your advice, too. i was leaning that way anyway but wanted to see what other people though. more than that, i'll turn this into an additional weight-loss insentive...i WILL wear a 2-piece but when and only when i get to goal and maintain. summer is far away so i have plenty of time. the goal is to get to goal (o.k. that's a weird sentence, i know) by dec 21, my 1year RNY anniversary thanks again!!!

Yea, I agree and think after all your hard work getting to goal, you could wear your scars with pride :o) That said, Bio Oil is supposed to fade scars so you could try that?

In time they will fade away....I can hardly see mine and I am almost two years out..  I also had a hysterectomy /bladder surgery about 10 years ago and was cut from hip to hip that scare too if very faint.   I say go for the bikini and wear it proud.

~~Jodi~~ Actually below goal with 100lbs loss

I rub them with cocoa and shea butter. But my wife gets mad at me and sometimes the women that I put it on get mad too. kp
