Question~Need Ideas
My group meets once a month and we have a speaker each time. This month it was about regain and what to do when it happens. Our nut (Mary Beth), who is the greatest in the world, gave all the basic information (identify the problem, find out why you've gained, track food and exercise, what not to do), and then people shared some of their problems and solutions. Before that we had an exercise guru tell us why exercise is so important, and which kinds make muscle and burn the most fat, etc. Before that we had a plastic surgeon tell us how much better we'd feel without all our skin (didn't go to that one). In November we have a cooking class, which I love. We get to sample food and take our own recipes, and our nut tells us how much better we do with little modifications. (You'll save 100 calories if you use this instead of that.) In December we have a Christmas party at somebody's house, and everybody has to pay $10 to go. It's sort of funny to go to those meetings and see how everybody's doing. It's such a wide range of problems and sizes. Some people get real skinny and stay there, and others don't lose much and gain back the little they lost. Same surgeon and medical help - we just all get different results.
