Bad advice from nut today ???????????????
Typically, I'm way off on another planet. I agree with YOU on this. Not that bread is all eveil, butto use it just as a FILLER? OMG! It sounds as if she thinks you/we are pigs that just need stuffing at the trough!
You need to feel SATISFIED, not overstuffed! Have your chicken salad, be sure there is a little healthy fat there somewhere. FAT satisfies., carbs make you crave. Such a simple formula.
Personally, I do 180g protein in supplement daily & weight around 110-115. I've never been a fan of the weight = g formula. You'd have to decide which formula to use. I used to use the surgery type = g formula, but even that is not exactly right for each person.
I do have a radical distal RNY, so my protein needs are higher than most, but even so, I prefer to use protein, again, not to make me feel FULL, but to take the egde off my appetite, kill off sugar cravings or just to feel better overall.
I tend not to use fat free ANYTHING, since it always makes me want food (less fat = more sugar, usually) an I still make my meal fit into appx 15 minutes. Some days I coudl eat 1.5 cups chicken salad (if I liked it. I don't) and other days 1/2 cup would be too much. I go with how I feel. Some meals are a few bites, some are more than I think "should" eat. But I still do actual "meals" vs any kind of a graze. My meals might be snack size, but it is "an event", not something that i do mindlessly. KWIM?
