I know exactly how you feel!!  I have done the same thing.  It is so hard to get back on track, but just remember.... That's the hardest part!  Once you make up your mind that you are going to do it, the first day or two is the worst.  By the third day, it won't even phase you.  I've lost 8 pounds of the 15 pounds I had gained over the last few months.  I never made it to goal weight, either.  So, I have a total of 32 pounds to lose.  I am trying, but I think I need to "pick up" my excercising.  Some days I don't do as well as others.  I hope I can continue losing.  I wish you the best, also.  I know that we can do it!!!

Hi Sue, You are right about getting back on track being the hardest part. I struggle with the lack of motivation but beat myself up every day. I think everyone hit the nail on the head about detoxing the carbs and sugars from my body. I've been reading about the 5 day pouch test and I am going to do that next week. The first 3 will be the hardest but I need to do this for myself. Thanks for the reply. Connie

The key for me to lose 25 of my 30 lb regain has been commitment to exercise.  When I 1st got back on track I was exercising regularly for about an hour almost every day.  It has taken me 3 months to lose 25 and some days are still challenging, we tend to eat out a lot.  I vary exercise walking at a track, using a gazelle and power walking videos at home and some weight training.  Diet wise I try to follow a low glycemic index diet protein 1st, veggies, few carbs.  I'm 5 years post op never really reached goal.  I am hoping to stay committed an continue losing.

I'm glad to see all these replies.  I lost about 80 lbs. at first and then gained back about 30 and haven't lost more since.  I'm now almost 5 years out.  I still weigh over 300 lbs!  I've been frustrated off and on about this.  I am now living near the beach, so I'm committing to walking on the beach every morning.  I have also started to eat more healthy.  Now, I have to stop drinking diet cokes, which I'm working on.  I also need to make sure I don't drink for that time before and after meals.  It's going to be tough, but I know I can do with all of you here to help me. Take care. Sharone
