Not a happy camper
Morning all,
I have not posted in a week or so but I have been reading every day. I got back on track a few months ago and picked up a rigourous program of 6 days a week, 50 minutes cardio as well as personal trainer twice a week and pilates twice a week. I had begun to notice that on the elliptical machine I just could not keep my heart rate down where it "should be". I also had one episode where I pushed myself way too hard during cardio and my lungs began to burn so bad I had to stop. Based on my family history, Mom has had 4 heart attacks and my father died at 42 after his 2nd heart attack, I would be safe then sorry and go for a checkup. My PCP was not thrilled with what she heard when she listened to my heart. My BP is perfectly normal and my ekg was fine but she set me up with a cardiologist for today. I dont feel like there is really an issue but the worst part is she pulled me off my exercise routine and I feel like a big lazy cow now!
I am dieing to get back to my routine. Please cross your fingers that the cardiologist clears me.
Thanks all,
Have a great day

It's frustrating to have gotten into a good routine, then to have life throw you a curveball. But better to find out exactly what's going on with your cardiovascular health, then figure out how to proceed than to take any chances. Good luck with your cardiology appointment; let us know what you learn.
Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers -
Kellie
Donna,
Along with everyone else, I too hope all turns out well at your cardiologist appmt. I don't know if you exercised regularly before wls, but if you're like most of us, probably not. Isn't it incredible to be UPSET not to be able to work out?? I absolutely HATE exercising, but I am pretty faithful to it because I know I have to, and I try to vary my routine just to keep me motivated. I tell myself over & over that I should be GRATEFUL that I CAN work out! I think of people that I know that are in situations that they can't exercise in any significant way, and I thank God that I CAN. Never in a million years, when I weighed nearly 300 lbs., would I have imagined what I now do for exercise nearly every day.
So I hope that you are soon back at it! I know it helps not only physically, but also mentally!
Always,
Jo
How awful for you. I do hope everything turns out well. The most important thing though is to find out if there is a problem before getting back to you exercise routine.
All the best
Sher
