Dr. Oz on Oprah

Just wondering if anyone else saw the piece from Dr. Oz on Oprah yesterday. It was found that if people take in up to 1 gram/ 1200 mg of calcium a day it increased your fat output by double. Question I have is, What is the % difference of absorption between normal digestive system and those having had an RNY? How much more calcium should we be taking in in order to optimize the fat reduction OR is there only so much calcium you can take in that our body can use, like with the protein. Love to hear from anyone on this one! Thanks Julia

I was very excited by this news on the  show yesterday, but was wondering the same thing. Although I take 2000mg of calcium daily plus drink milk, eat cheese, yogurt, etc. so I figure I'm probably at least hitting the mark. I'll be checking back to see others viewpoints on this~I bet VitaLady could shed some light on it..........

I'm wondering the same thing. But your comment about " the amount of protein out bodies can take in" I haven't heard that before. Does our bodies only take in a certain amount of protein? and if so how much? thanks Brenda
