Strange Dumping??

Even though I'm almost 2.5 years out I'm experiencing a strange form of what I think might be dumping.  Everytime I drink my protein drink I break out in a horrible "hot flash", I'm just burning up and dripping wet. It goes away after an hour or so but OMGSH I am not liking it. I though maybe I was just making my hot chocolate too hot, so I made it almost luke warm, same results.  Then today, the same thing happened when I ate my oatmeal. Now this is the same oatmeal I've been eatting nearly every day for a year now!!! And its the same protein drink (I'm a creature of habit).  What's up with that?????

I have had the same experience only it last 20 min. But to me it seems like I have a heater on in my body. My friend (whom also had the BP) gets it too. My back & shoulders get real real hot. With my friend its her head. I think it's just weird. And it doesn't happen every time I eat a certain food. Or drink a drink. It's at random. We just refer to it as our heater is on. I just thought it was a part of the journey.lol.  but it is very uncomforatable.  Brenda

That is very strange, but i know things that never bother you can start bothering you. Not sure what to say about it or what to do.. just keep an eye on it. you do have a very busy schedule right now and a lot going on. It might just be the adjustment to all that showing up in a strange way..

Take care

That happens to me when I drink coffee.  I will deal with it because I am NOT giving up my coffee!  It also happens when I eat pasta, pancakes and an other "bad" carb.  I normally stay away from that stuff, but every so often I eat it, usually at a restaurant, that's when I notice the sweat the most.  UGH!  I have noticed it in the last year, but I am only 2 years out and I was a picture perfect WLS patient for the first year and never ate that kind of food.

Me too...I thought at first they were hot flashes since I'm 51! But like you this happens after I eat and it is so strange. It is like eating changes the bodys thermostate. I could be cold then after I eat I'll be all sweaty for 20 mins. Mabe get one of those neck rolls that have gel in them that expand in cold water keep it in your fridge and wear it untill the hot flash leaves. Long's sell's them here since it gets up to 100 in the summer they really do help to keep you cool. Rose C. 275/ 160 goal/ 148 RNY-4/06

It happens to me all the time!  But I mostly have head sweats.  My hair gets wringing wet, my makeup runs and I'm just a disaster! I've never been able to pin down what causes it.  At first I thought it was carb related, but I've also had it after eating chicken and cottage cheese.  Sometimes it happens when I haven't recently eaten, sometimes with mild exercise, sometimes with housework (wish I could get out of that one!).   If anyone has an explanation, I'd sure like to hear it!
