Accountability... What did you eat
you are just to funny.. u.. u.. need motivation. I still think u need to eat more with all the exercise you are doing.. yes eat more.. you burn almost as much as u put in on exercise alone. Think about it.. need to add some more protein in there too my friend.. I love picking on you.. and I really love seeing you on this string each day..

Ruthie.. nice to see you on the thread. I have not been exercising at all.. I had that problem with my legs and still do.. than I sprang my ankle 3 different times because of the drop foot so I can not do any cardio at all.. they worry I will really hurt myself. Even without exercise I try to keep my calories up over 1200 a day. I noticed when I got higher I lost more weight.. not that I am trying to loose weight but did again the other day when I ate the 1500 calorie day.
I honestly think you are starving your body and need to eat more.. but with that, you need to eat more proteins and less carbs.. carbs are not your friend. I notice when you post on our may board you are eating so little and much of it is carbs.. I know you have been bringing up your protein, but you gotta give it time..your body is hording it from all the time you have starved it.. one day it will just drop... its gonna be ok ruthie..
do the sparkpeople thing so you can really see what you are doing... I know it changed the way I was eating and stick with us.. we can sail together and hopefully see that scale moving some day soon.

I think you and I are close in size and height. My dietician told me for my height and weight, I need 1800 calories a day with NO exercise just to maintain. If you want to lose weight, try to decrease your intake by 200-500 calories per day. So, if you don't exercise, you would want your calories around 1300-1600 per day. But, if you exercise, you should add more calories to compensate for it. This is based on my height, weight, and body fat percentage. But I would guess your requirements would be somewhere close to that.
I'm having a hard time trying to get my protein high enough but also have enough carbs. With as much as I run and lift weights, I need the carbs to help fuel my body. So I'm having a hard time drawing the line between enough carbs and too much carbs. And then I worry that I'm eating too much all the time! Ha, ha! I obsess about it constantly!

It made me cry reading both your responses. It made me realise I am scared of upping my calories. I've been so conditioned that you've got to eat les than 1000 calories to lose weight on a diet, Im scared to go above as I dont' want to gain weight, and depserately want to lose.
Does that make sense? Before wls I was eating about 1500 calories a day on average, so don't want to go near that figure, as that was maintaining. My body is so messed up with all that I've done to it over the years, I really don't know what to do anymore. What portion sizes do you eat at one sitting?
