time for H2O? when?
I'm 2 yrs post op & have lost 150.lbs.(check out my new pics) But I never have space in my little belly for all the H2O we're supposed to get in. How do u all do it? We are to wait 1 hr after eating to drink, right? then we are to eat 3 times a day, right? also snacks if we aren't getting enouph protein in, right? well I do drink 2 protein drinks but do they count towards the total H2O? Who has time for very much H2O after all that. I have started keeping a journal to try to see why I can't seem to get it in. Thanks for all the input. Brenda
How do you make up your protein drinks? I do 6 drinks per day, 4 small meals, still get in most of my water.
I drink up until the first bite of food, basically, and start drinking after my meal is done, as in, no more food, no more plate, I'm walking away. I don't necessarily time one hour, just when I cannot eat more food. The object is not to eat and drink at the same time, so if the food is gone, I go ahead and drink.

Oh no! I coun****er as water. If I have tea or coffee or anything added to it, it's no****er. My rule of thumb is if my kidneys have to sort thru it to find the water, it's "liquid", but no****er.

I use the 30/30 plan for drinking~no liquids 30 min before or after a meal. I do count my protein drinks toward my daily intake and I generally take in 80-100oz of liquids daily. If I keep a water bottle with me I can get one down pretty quickly~especially when driving or messing around on the computer, LOL! I prefer to use crystal light b/c plain water gets boring sometimes. Of course in the beginning I couldn't take this much in, but now at 2yr8mth post op I have no problem getting it down~unless I'm being lazy for a day and just don't feel like it, but that doesn't happen very often.

I have trouble with it too. I've found that I can get in a lot of liquid driving back & forth to work. I always have that powder that you can pour in the bottles, b/c I can't stand the taste of regular water. I can usually get down a whole bottle before I get to work, and another one on the way home, so that just leaves two more bottles I have to get in through the day to get 64 oz.
