I went to the dr today and they put my on some thyroid medicine.  They said to take it in the morning as soon as i get up and not to take with anything else.  I am taking my iron and vitamin C in the mornings and wanted to know if this is best taken in the morning or if i can change it to in the evening? Also ia m having trouble taking the multi vitamins i ordered, they make me sick to my stomach and suggestions, this has happened in the past with pretty much any vitamin i take. Also what can i expect with the thyroid medicine.  Will this hlep with the weight gain? Brenda

I would think it would be ok to wait a few hours and then take your vit c and iron or take it later in the day. What type of multivit are you taking? Maybe you need to take it with food if your are not doing so to se if that helps. As for your weight gain, I can't say wether the thyroid medicine will help you lose weight, but it should help you feel better and not so tired and feeling better can lead to eating better and maybe getting more exercise. Take care Sher

You can take the iron and Vitamin C with a protein shake, provided it is made with water, not milk. You don't want to mix iron and C with dairy, whole grains, eggs, and etc.. you need to wait an hour after ingesting those kinds of food.  Thyroid medication should be taken all alone with a full glass of water, and if your thyroid is really out of whack, as the medication regulates your hormone, you will feel less tired, your skin may improve as far as dryness, you hair and nails won't be as brittle, and you could see an improvement in your weight loss  providing that your thyroid is underactive.  If your thyroid is overactive, I really don't know what to tell you to expect as I deal with an underactive thyroid and this has been my experience. Also, with underactive thyroid, your tolerance to heat and cold may improve somewhat, but not drastically. Whatever, I wish you good luck, and hope that everything turns out ok for you. Take care

Well, yes and no. The way it was explained to me is that whey is to milk as exhaust fumes are to crude oil.

You wouldn't actually grease your car with exhaust fumes, right?

There isn't calcium in whey. It was extracted in one of the processes. Back in the days when one could see Tillamook Cheese being made (now you watch a FILM of it being made), I watched them take the whey away and in those days , they tossed the whey as a useless byproduct. Anyway, the calcium (such as it is) was left behind in the cheese. What they didn't really know yet was that the bulk of the protein was in the whey.

Since calcium really wants that bed time slot, you can take your iron mid-day? It only needs to be separateed for an hour (either side) from caffeine, dairy, eggs, whole grains, other vites, minerals or meds.

OR as many do, if you get up to pee at night, take your thyroid then and drink your water as you, um, sit there. It's automatically separated that way and no effort on your part. Just stayupright long enough for tha****er to make it down your eophagus, which is only 3-4 minutes.
