My sister just called....

She attended the conference in Atlanta today and was amazed at the amount of information she got.  She has a whole new understanding of what I went/am going through.  And has decided that she's not interested in any procedure for herself right now.  However, one thing she came away with from the psychologist was that for strong mental health we have to quit "should"ing on ourselves and we shouldn't "should" on other people either!  His least favorite words are should, ought to, supposed to, etc.  In the remainder of the conversation, she "should"ed on me about 4 times!  But caught herself and laughed about it.  I thought it was a really valid point, particularly toward others.  And it's a great way to get people to hold back on unwanted advice - just reply, "You just should on me!"  Of course, it might help if they have a frame of reference.... Have a happy day!
