I get my PET scan tomorrow. I'm a little nervous...

For those following along at home, I have an enlarged liver and spleen for no apparent reason. They've ruled out all the truly nasty stuff except lymphoma which, while unlikely, is still a possibility. Hence the PET-CT scan.

So I'm on a high protein, no carb diet today (which is how I should probably be eating anyway), and then tomorrow I get the scan.  I'm not at all worried about the procedure itself -- just an IV and lots of lying around while they take pictures -- but what they'll find. I don't THINK I have lymphoma but you never know....

I still have a feeling that this is somehow related to my WLS but there is nothing in the literature about it. Anyone else have this problem after the fact? I had fatty liver prior to WLS but my liver was a normal size, as was my spleen. The most likely candidate seems to be related to the WLS, but maybe I'm just deluding myself, not wanting to believe that it's lymphoma. The good news is that my labs (even my hematocrit!!!) are dead on beautifully normal. So I'm encouraged by that.

Anyhow, if you could keep me in your thoughts, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks, Tracy. They say I'll have the results in 24 hours so rather than waiting for my doc to get in touch you know where I'll be on Friday. :)

I wasn't too nervous but the idea that I might need pre-medication with Xanax made me a little nervous today. I mean, it's just a glorified CT scan, right? Oy.
