Morning all, Well I am SO confused and I hope that you all can PLEASE tell me the same thing happens to you because I am beyond frustrated. I TRY not to weigh myself to much. I got on the scale last weekend, I mean 4 stinking days ago and I was at 212, which was GREAT because when I got back on track 2 months ago I was 226. I got on the damn thing this morning 4 FREAKING DAYS LATER and I am at 218.5????????? I HAVE NOT GONE OFF THE FOOD WAGON and I HAVE BEEN WORKING MY BUTT OFF 6 DAYS A WEEK in the gym. The last day of my cycle was yesterday. I understand small flucuations but 6.5 pounds in 4 days?? Does this type of weight change happen to others or am I really working this hard for nothing?

Donna, The scale is an evil demon.  If you can manage to only weigh once a week or less even you will be doing yourself a big favor.  I started being really true to a good diet and daily exercise about 2 months ago too  I discovered that I lose in crazy cycles. I have spurts of loss one week then a possible regain of yes even up to 5/6 lbs and then it goes back down again.  I was really upset about 3 weeks ago because I wasn't seen good progress on the scale. I didn't weigh again until this week and now I am even lower and I tried on some clothes that hadn't fit me in forever and I'm wearing them today.   Still I know that maybe next week the scale will turn against me, so no more weighing at least for a whole week.  I think we all know deep inside when we are on course and we just cant let that horrible monster that lives at the foot out our bed (the scale) change our course.    Keep up the good work! Yep, it has happened to me too!!!!! There are so many factors~time of the month, water retention (from exercise or high salt intake), humidity, irregular bowel movements, etc. Don't freak out just yet b/c I bet in a few days you'll be right back down to 212.

I sometimes gain 5 pounds or so, and hang on to it for several days, and I know I didn't do anything to gain it. I get real PO'd about it too, but then it eventually comes back off. Surely you'll drop back down soon. All that hard work may be building some muscle too, which might make you weigh a little more. I bet your britches are looser!

i did that today also, i was 214.4 the day b4 yesterday and today i am at 216.2, i haven't really done anything to gain it back, my cal are low. i think that since i haven't had bm in a few days that may be the reason... it will come back off. i know it's hard not to weigh every day.

Oh My God!  Did I need to read this today!  I have  gotten back on track myself this past month due to a 10 lb regain- cut out the crap and began my power walks again- 3- 4 x a week.  Have felt better too.  2 weeks ago I got on the scale to find I had gone from 182 to 176- I was so psyched.  Now- about 2 weeks later I get on the scale and it reads 179!  I am just finishing up my period and have felt a little dehydrated- but I was so disgusted this morning that instead of doing my morning walk- I went back to bed and felt like crying!!!  I know logically this is all ridiculous- but I want the scale to match my insides and outsides you know what I mean?!  I am soooo glad to hear that other people have seen crazy fluctuations like this.  I know that I could just throw the scale out- in fact, I only bought this a month or so again to stop being in denial- and I refuse to be a daily weigher for just this kind of reason....so, I was totally bumming this morning about this. I hope that I will be one of those that will weight again later and see something positive..... thanks for the hope....

Sorry you are so frustrated Hon!! My first thought was that muscle weighs more than fat, so that could be it. But everyone on here is right... There are soooooooooooo many factors that come into play. Just try and be patient. I think that you will see it  even out soon. Hugs,  Piggy

You are NOT working this hard for nothing; stay the course!!!  I've gained 10 pounds in 6 days -- some of it was attributable to eating too much, but not all of it!  Some times our bodies are just fickle.  Fluid retention, bowel movements, muscle building - all can affect our daily weight.  So don't get hung up on the day-to-day numbers; be concerned with how your weight is trending over longer periods of time (weekly, monthly, etc.).  That can help you keep your perspective when the day-to-day numbers suck Good luck on your continuing journey! iam glad you all wrote about this, because since about 2 weeks my weight has been up about 3 lbs and I don't know why?  The last two days I have hardly ate because my ulcer is rearing its ugly head, and I just feel lousy with food in my pouch!  so I get on the scale, and gained another pound!!! AAHHH! Very low carb, 40grams of extra protein a day.  I don't eat sugar at all, just occasional sf and work out at kung fu 3x a week! Do you t hink I should be increasing my additional protein? Anyway, you've all encouraged me. Thanks, Tami
