What is a good rule of thumb as to how many carbs and calories we should consume at 2 years out., if we still want to lose? Im trying hard to reach goal, got about 19 pounds to go. just wondering what I should be aiming for daily. Thanks Blessings Betsy

HI Betsy! This is a hard question to answer b/c everyone is SO very different. For me, when I'm trying to lose a few pounds I drop back to 1400-1600cal per day. I have read where alot of people go with 1200, but for me that's a bit too low b/c of my workout schedule. I don't really count carbs, but I do watch and make sure that I'm mainly eating the "good" carbs. I don't generally eat a diet high in carbs so it hasn't been an issue for me so far (except a few times when I've gotten on a wheat thins binge,LOL) I have found that trial and error is the best way to figure out what will work for you. Try something out and if you're not seeing the desired results then tweek it a little bit to see what happens. Do you know your BMR? You can use that with the Harris Benedict Equation to get a good idea of where you should be. I wish I could help you with that question but I am still looking for the answer myself. I know I try and keep my protein at 100- 130 and my carbs below 70 a day. I try to not eat any breads, rice, or bad carbs. I am on a different path right now as I am below my goal and well within my bmi. so i am trying to learn how to eat with out gaining or loosing. its pretty tricky and I hope to someday master it. I am not two years out either so I dont know how much fits at that point. I try and eat between 1100 to 1400 calories a day.. i know I should eat closer to 1400 but I usually am closer to the 1100 amount or lower.. but I am trying to get up there.
