Artificial Sweeteners

Well, that would explain a LOT!! Thanks for the info. I cannot even IMAGINE drinking a 12-pack of Coke per day. We had a teacher in high school who was addicted to Coke. She kept an ice chest full in her classroom (before the day of mini-fridges) and drank it all day long. In fact, we often referred to her as "Coke" Richard.  I guess if you could give up an "addiction" to coke, I could give up my "addiction" to coffee!!!            Hugs,  Piggy

12 cans are 12 ounces so a total of 144 ounces a day - I do that now in water. And I feel so much better. My nutritionist told us if we were going to drink coffee that for every cup of coffee you drink have 2 cups of water. She also said we couldn't count coffee as a fluid because of the caffiene which is dehydrating. Thus the 2 cups of water between cups of coffee. Sometimes I sound like a walking encylopedia with this stuff but as a support group leader, I need to know it so I can assist those in our group. So how much coffee do you drink a day? Diona

Well, I probably drink 10-12 cups per day, but I usually drink de-caf.  I may drink one or two cups of half-caf or if I am especially "tired" I'll drink a cup of full caff, but not often.  De-caff is not quite as dehydrating as full-caff, so I'm not too worried about that part. I also TRY and drink at least 60 oz. of water daily. I can't drink Crystal Light because of the citric acid. Sometimes I'll drink de-caff tea... You'd think that with all of this liquid I would not be able to eat anything, but somehow I manage to get in quite a bit!!! Thanks for your responses.  Piggybabe
