sparkle people
i don't wanna maintain, but i understand now what they mean by not going below 1200 calories, starvation mode and my metabolism will slow down. my new goal is to get to atleast 1200 calories. so you think the carbs are kinda high? i can do the protein and calories, but the carbs i am a little concerned about.
I was told to lose stay around 1200...1500-1600 to maintain. I also agree that sparkpeople is too high on carbs...we all know we need MORE protein than "normal" people so if you figure out how much of your diet should be protein the calculations I have made and try to live by is:
1200 cal
100 - 135 carbs
30-40 fat
75-90 protein
Hope this helps.

Because sparkpeople doesnt take into account for our specific wls needs.. i dont go by the carb thing.. i do try and stay high in the protein and get at least 100 in a day. as far as the amounts it says for your daily goal. I think it may be right for the average person I try and stay at the low end around 1200 to 1300 and I have continued to loose. each person is a little different. remember the body gets use to what you give it and adjust to it over time.. I try and go high once in a while than low to keep my body guessing and continuing to loose.. hope that helps
You can personalize the carbs, fat, and protein numbers on Sparkpeople. I go for higher protein and lower carbs...and 1200 to 1500 calories. Theoretically, with moderate exercise (3-5X week) that will give you a "normal" 4-6 pound weight loss each month.

That would be a guaranteed we4ight gainer for me. I try to keep the carbs under 50g, and protein over 180g. Don't care about calories or fats. Just protein g, sugar g and meal volume size & frequency.
