HI everyone I have been reading the boards for a few months but never write to voice what I feel. I have been back to the boards because I have gained about 40 lbs. I quit doing everything about 8 months ago. No protein drinks,vitamins, b-12,thyroid meds . Now I see the results of it all.  I went to a support meeting on Saturday and just came back from a short walk. Boy  am I out of shape.Have access to the gym but am to chicken to go alone. Have to get the courage because I don't want to gain all my weight back. Thank you for listening.

I'm glad you're here!!! First things first~take your vits! That's SO important to your overall health and well being. It sounds like you know the right things to do~push protein first, exercise, no drinking with meals, etc. Work on things a little at a time so it doesn't become overwhelming. It sounds like you have the drive and desire to do this so I know that you can! If you don't want to go to the gym just yet then keep walking and/or doing exercise at home~it all counts!!!! And don't be afraid to jump in here anytime! Good Luck to You!!!!!!!!!!!!

Traci Thank you for your support. I have started on the vitamins. Went on another walk after I did the first post. I guess little walks are better than no walks at all.walked to the park with the girls. I don't drink with meals and don't drink carb drinks but also have never did enough water. I am working on that now too. thanks again for your support.

It's hard - we KNOW what to do, but if we were really good with willpower, we wouldn't have needed surgery to start with!  Try to find a buddy to go to the gym with, there's nothing better than knowing they're waiting for you when you're tempted to skip.  Even if it's someone who starts out as a stranger!  GOOD LUCK!!

Hi Crazy-Eights,  It good to see that you realize that going back to basics is the best way to be successful in losing the weight again.  It is very difficult, but not impossible to get on track and stay there.  I have "started over" severel times before Jan 22,2007 when I started over for the last time. After eight months of sticking with the wls life style again; the exercise, eating right..etc has become routine. Please see my profille and my latest posts to see how I got back on the losing side after gaining 42 pounds. So far, I have lost 25 of the 42 pounds. My coming to this forum for support and encouragement has helped tremendously.  Please keep coming back to see us!  Good luck and many blessings.  You WILL succeed!!

Hi Char S. Thank you for your response and encouragement. I just read your profile and it sounds a lot like the problems that I have. I too can eat the wrong foods without any problems. The weight gain is a major problem. I have started walking and am working on the water. That is had for me to remember to drink. I saw on your comments your message from momma angel she was one of the ones who always was there to encourage me when I first started and then I quit coming to the boards for about a year or so.I now read alot  but don't write alot to others. I will work on doing what is right day to day and again thanks for your help. Debbie (crazy-eights)
