Anyone taking Xanax?

I went to my Dr. yesterday and he switched my anxiety meds from Lexapro to Xanax because the Lexapro was causing me to have more panic attacks.  So I guess that my question is...How does the Xanax work for you guys?  Has anyone noticed an increase in the side affects?  Has it caused anyone else an increase in thier anxiety attacks?  Any info that you can offer to me will be appreciated and very helpful.  Thanks in advance. I sometimes take Xanax for anxiety.  I only take it occasionally.  It is wonderful.  No side effects.  I take the lowest dosage made. Pat

I've been on Xanax just over three years, and never had side effects. Am thirteen months out from surgery., However, due to an incident last February with one of the five cross-addictions post WLS, my doctor increased the dosage from one at bedtime, to one also in the morning. I've felt like myself since, with no repercussions.

I HAVE BEEN ON ANTIANXIETY MEDS FOR 9 YEARS NOW.....YOU SHOULD REALLY BE ON A COMBO.....WHAT I MEAN IS THE REASON YOUR HAVE THE PANIC ATTACKS IS YOUR SERETONIN IS OFF.....LEXAPRO,ZOLOFT OR PAXIL ARE ANTIANXIETY MEDS....THE XANAX IS LIKE A VOLUME FOR THE QUICK FIX....IF YOUR DOC WAS TO PUT YOU...LET'S SAY ON PAXIL YOUR ANXIETY LEVELS WILL PROBABLY INCREASE FOR ONLY 2 WEEKS OR LESS WHILE YOUR BODY GETS USED TO IT....THE XANAX SHOULD JUST BE TAKEN WHEN YOUR IN A FULL BLOWN ALL DAY ANXIETY PHASE....PEOPLE THAT HAVE ATTACKS HAVE THEM AND THEY USUALLY PASS WITH BREATHING EXCERSIES....O..AND YOU SHOULD BE SEEING A THREAPIST WHILE ON THESE MEDS....THIS IS BECAUSE THE THERAPIST HELPS YOU GET OVER WHAT EVER YOUR FEAR MAY ME OR IF IT'S GENETICS THAT'S CAUSING YOU TO HAVE THE ATTACKS.....I'M SORRY I DON'T MEAN TO GO ON AND ON BUT I'VE GONE THROUGH YOUR BATTLE...SO IF YOU REALLY WHAT ME TO GET MORE SPECIFIC YOU CAN EMAIL ME AND WE COULD DO AN IM SESSION OR ON THE PHONE....HOPE THIS HELPED A LITTLE BIT.
