I have been missing cereal for breakfast for some time.  I tried a tiny bowl of nutrisystem cereal (low sugar, high fiber) I had left over when I was about 3 months post-op and regretted it.  Today I tried some Ka**** grain nuggets (like grape nuts) with splenda.  I think this is almost the worst dumping I have ever had.  I'm a little shaky and have been to the potty 4 times so far.  I guess no more Kashi for me!

OH NO!!! I'm sorry cereal is a nono for you, I really love to munch it (kind if a treat sometimes for me...) Are there any higher protein cereals out there(I've never looked to be honest), maybe that might help.....Dede

Yeah, I got he highest fiber and protein and lowest sugar I could find.  I might could eat it if I ate less at one time, but less than a third cup of a grape nuts type cereal just isn't very satisfying.  I ate a half cup of a raisin bran type cereal recently and did ok.  I think this was just too concentrated for me.  I'll be giving away this box I think.

I, too, love cereal.  I mix grape nut type cereal with yogurt, so less than 1/3 of a cup is ok.

That sounds like it would make it more filling.  Thanks for the tip!

I eat Special K high protein cereal, it has 100cal, 9g net carbs, 1.5fat and 10g protein. I put a splenda packet on it and sometimes mix in some fruit. It's the only cereal that never made me dump. I hate the way Ka****astes and it does a number on my stomach. Are you sure it's not the milk making you dump? I was sensitive to milk for quite a while after surgery. Best of luck .....

I don't drink milk.  I drink soymilk (and have for many years pre-RNY) and the amount I used on the cereal is no more than in a latte that would give me no problem.  Definitely the cereal.  I may check out the special K.  Thanks for the tip.

I like Fiber One cereal. My kids say the original Fiber ONe looks like our guinea pig's food, LOL! They also have Fiber One Clusters and Fiber ONe with raisins~they're all pretty good! Hope you can find a cereal that you can tolerate and that you like!

Oh how I miss cereal!! Ive tried it a couple of times. At first I could eat Special K w/ protein, but then on day Sally the Grouchy Pouchy said "NO MORE" and that was that.  I've tried it a few time since and always end up in horrible pain for hours afterwards!!!  It's just oatmeal for me!!!
