Dumping

I do not know why but sometimes I dump and cannot figure out the cause at all.  Sometimes it is from not eating very much at all!  And sometimes its' food I've eaten before and have not had any problems with.  This is not sweets beyond 12 grams of sugar.  This is out in a restaurant having fish and vegies and other "healthy" things.  I do not get it!  Any clues???

Sometimes I can eat beef and be a happy girl, sometimes it makes me feel like I wa*****hed in the chest and want to pass out.  Just thinking about fish makes me want to dump. I think the pouch is simply tempermental at times.  Matches the rest of me.

Exact same thing happens to me. I have no idea why.

Wow, this sounds like the post I was just about to write.  I have the exact same issue plus a few other challenges.  Lately I have had the foaming dumps- sorry if TMI but it actually floats and resembles whipped cream.  Gas and abdominal bloating is also quite severe for me.  Doesn't matter what I eat these days- the bloat comes regardless.  Anything over 10 grams of sugar in a serving makes me dump for sure- I either get a chill or sweats right before it.  It usually occurs within 10-20 minutes of eating the items. I have been to a few gastroenterologists- been tested for various disorders and parasites- been on clincal trials, experimental meds and antibiotics, various possible prescription remedies- like Questran granules and most recently Lonox (Lomotil).  I have IBS-D.  Nothing really resolves the gas or bloating.  I believe the Lonox does slow down my bowels a bit but not to the point of feeling regular.  If I eat excessive amounts of hard cheese as my protein source- I can actually have a regualar BM but it usually leads to constipation.  Its so difficult finding a happy medium.   I have had GI issues however even before RNY, even before I had my gallbladder removed in 2001.  I believe my more severe GI symptoms started when my gallbladder started having emptying problems back in the late 1990's.  Even eating foods- sometimes i can eat chicken breast or steak and it stays down- while a few times i have to vomit it back up.  Its weird.   My challenge is to maintain a weight of 140 pounds without losing any more.  I can occasionally go up to 145 but usually I am struggling to keep it at or above 140.  Malabsortion and dumping must be why I cannot easily keep my weight on. Sorry I do not have any answers despite all my efforts at finding them.  Its good to know someone else is having some similar experiences though- I thought I was alone with my struggles.

I had the same thing happen to me last week. I had not eaten much during the day because I had a very rare "not hungry" day. That night, all of a sudden my blood sugar dropped to 52. No explanation except that maybe I had not eaten enough that day... Strange

It feels better to know I am not alone!  But gosh do I feel for all of you!!!  I guess the only solution is to try and do whatever you can to make it mangeable.
