Hi everyone! My question is this...I keep reading everyones messages about sizes they are wearing, and I guess I don't get it. I am 5' 10'' and now down to 155 and a 12 is comfortable and I can get into a 10 in some clothes. But my question is...how do people who are shorter and weigh the same get into a 6 or a 4? I am very happy about how I look and the weight I am at, I guess I am just curious.. Thanks for listening....everyone have a good day!!!

Everyone carries their weight differently.  It depends how muscular a person is too.  Muscle weighs more than fat.  I am 5' 4"    I weigh around 168.  I wear size 8 - 10.  In some jeans I could wear a 6 but it's snug.  It really depends on brands too.  Different brands sizes don't run the same.  If you are more muscular, you can weigh the same or even more, and still wear a smaller size than someone else who weighs the same.    Hope this helps!!  DeeAnn

i find it confusing too. must just have to do with how individual body's are shaped, etc. i'm also 5'10", weigh 185, and fit very comfortably in size 12's.

I guess it is one of those mysteries I will never get either, LOL!  Because I am 164 right now, I am 5'5'' and wear a size 12 or 14 !!!  Nobody who knows my size can believe that I weigh this much or wear that big of a size. I think the "X" factor is loose skin!!!! For me at least! Molly

it's exactly what they are saying, body frame and muscles. i am 5' 6.5" and weigh 217 wearing a 12- 14 my sister is 5'1" and weighs 135 and wears a size 8. it's weird, but everyone is different. weight is carried in someones back or their thighs, maybe their breast. not always visable

I wonder too!   I'm 5' 5", weigh 163 and wear large or extra large.  Mostly I buy XL because I won't wear form fitting, spandex stuff.   Slacks are a nightmare to find because I have no butt or legs, wide waist and a bit of a belly.  If I fit to my waist, they hang off my butt.  If I fit to my legs and butt, I can't close them at the waist.  Makes me want to scream.  I wear skirts all the time.

I've wondered the same thing.  I am 5'3" and 185 and wear an 18/20.  At 170 I wore a 16.  I just don't get it.

My girlfriend asked me the same question yesterday.  We are both 5' 3".  I weigh 135 and wear a anywhere between a 4-6.  My girlfriend is 119 and can barly squeeze into an 8.  I know my problem is that I have no butt and I am very short waisted.  So when I get the low rise jeans that are made to go around someones hips, they come up to my waist.  And as the waist is smaller than the hips, I obviously can wear a smaller size.   Hope this helps! :-)

Because there is no standardization in clothing sizes. At 5'10" & 182, I could wear anything from a misses size 10 to a woman's size 14.  I haven't had PS & carry most of my flab around my belly/thighs. Don't let clothing size be the measure of your success.  :)  CitS

I'm 5'5, 150 pounds, and usually wear a size 10 . All my weight is in my thighs & butt. The last time I weighed 150 pounds, I was 18 years old, almost 30 years ago, and I remember wearing a size 13. Something has happened that my butt is more in proportion to the rest of me. It has sort of deflated and hanging low, which is sad but it's less inches around.
