help me...............my weight is now 157... help me.. i was 153 pounds. how do i stop the snacking and baking... the 28th i will be 4 years out.. what you think go back to clear liquids for 2 weeks and ect.... i need help. i have no one local to talk to... i do exercise also... please help me. should i do protein drinks????????? i dont know how to stop..... i am eating pb and jelly sanwhiches even though i am not hungery................ i dont know what to do................ this has to stop.........                                  anita

Anita, All I can say is I know what you are going through. I am 5 yrs out and I am going through the same exact thing. I eat when I am not even hungry. I was just 127 # two years ago and now sit about 155. I have been thinking of going back to liquids for 2 weeks myself and see how that goes. Unless someone else has any ideas? Whats going on here! Scary :(

Anita Jo, try not to panic. It is a personal choice whether to go on a liquid diet, but just clear liquids is not healthy. From what I have read some people are using protien drinks in place of some meals. Myself I feel going back to basics is best, protien first, then good carbs( vegetables, fruit and whole grains). Try and cut out those (bad) carbs they only make crave for more.

Also try and substitute another activity into the time that you want to eat those peanut butter and jelly sandwichs. Do you enjoy reading a good book or crocheting? Or call a friend or just get out of the house for a few minutes till that urge passes.

Sel,  I want to cry but no tears come. i know i am doing wrong but why do i do this to myself. i did try timeout for 1 day. i was fine with it. didnt cheat or nothing. maybe i should just do a modified time out . if i have fresh fruit in the house i will keep snacking on it. lately i am very worried over carbs like i said to my hubby maybe i should stop fitday. i havent done it lately maybe a week. i do buy italian wheat bread. well thats what i have now in the house. hubby eats white. i do plastic canvas craft so i do try and stay busy. i never read only if its on here on the oh. i will try to be on track starting tommorow. thanks for your help. anita

Anita Jo, I think you need to go back to heavy proteins. Eat that first each time you eat until you are full and then if you still need a little something, you'll only have room for a bite or two. I know it's the basics, but it works! Also, are you strength training? Keeping your muscle built up keeps your metabolism up. Don't forget cardio too. How are your liquids? Are you getting enough water in every day? 64 ounzes at least? If you are drinking caffiene they say to drink 2 glasses of water for each cup of coffee because coffee is dehydrating. Are you still taking your supplements? Just wanted you to go back and think about the basics. Diona

hi diona, today i had my 16 oz. of def. coffee and 8 pz water for my meds and a protein shake with skim milk now i am having my water. today hubby wants italian sausage. is that a yes or no for me? yes it is protein. i am going to have more shakes. i try and get in 120 ozs of plain water. i dont know if i am strength exercising. like yesterday i did the ellipical for 20 minutes buth incline and resist was 6 then i did the stepper for 12 minutes. then did the weight machines at the hospital gym. nope i dont drink caffine. only def. and i do wait a half hour too.yup i take my calicum and vitamin twice a day together. anita

First off, do NOT panic!!! I understand the fear, but panic will not help you.You are definitely not too far "off" to get back on track. It's NEVER too late. I agree with the others that have advised you to go back to the basics.  DEFINITELY start the protein drinks again. I consider those my "salvation" (although I am far from "perfect" myself). I could not make it without my protein drinks.  Do some searches on "emotional eating" and see what is recommended. That has helped me.  Keep reading the posts here and don't be afraid to ask for help (you already made that brave step). Go back and read some of the archives.  I am soooooo sorry that  You are struggling with this again. I know I thought that once I had this surgery it would "fix"  me, but it only fixed my stomach, not my head. Thank GOD it fixed my stomach and I cannot eat nearly the amounts that I used too, but that head hunger is a mighty force. BUT, YOU ARE STRONGER THAN YOUR HEAD HUNGER!!! i think i better say no to the italian sausage and just say yes to protein drinks. my weight was 155 today. i am going to ask hubby to hide the scale for awhile. maybe i am doing "emotional eating." i dont know... thanks for your help tooo. anita

Italian sausage should not be a no-no for you really. Just weigh out about 2-3 oz (It won't look like much) and put it on your plate. Then pile on some veggies and chew really well! I HAVE to weight every day  in order to keep myself accountable. Somehow looking at that number on the scale (no matter how discouraging) reminds me that I do NOT want to see 300 EVER again! yup i did put the italian suasage back in the freezer but not hubbys. i do weigh my food when i eat it. also i use a salad plate . i love zuccini squash. today i will have broth for my lunch and supper plus protein shakes. i will weigh myself next tuesday. i can beat this.......... anita
