Any advice/experiences from any Graduates to help a new member who is considering the lap...

I had RNY, so I don't know anything about the Lap Band, but I just wanted to say hello and let you know that there is a lap band forum out there that may have lots of answers for you.  I am sure if you posted this same message over there you would gets lots of people willing to help you out. All I can say about lap band and me, is that if I could cheat on the lap band, I would.  You can eat frosty's and sugar and there is no punishment.  So, because I know myself well enough that if I could have cheated, I would have.  I needed the control and the pain of dumping and what that entailed to be in control over what I ate. RNY worked for me, and lap band would have been a joke.  I would have mashed high calorie and sugar laden foods for sure. I am soooo happy with RNy and am now 2 yrs post op.  I just had my 3rd and almost last plastic surgery, thigh lift, and weigh 148 pounds, and that is with 2 pounds of breast implants :) Go for the RNY, it is the best surgery for continued and guaranteed success.. please, those who have lap band, I am happy for you, but I am only talking about myself, so please don't send me hate letters :) I am happy for you if you are disciplined enough to do it.  All the fills and getting it right was too much for me, I had to do the RNY :) Hugs, Deb ps, new pics  www.picturetrail.com/debschueler   passwords  usafa123   for both
