For cryin out loud!  Last May marked a full year battle with 5-6 lbs.  Now it's August and that 5-6 is now 10.  Yep 10.  I am so mad at myself for being lazy and just rolling along.  5 is easier to take off than 10 but here I am.  I'm 4 1/2 years post op.  I know this is when a lot of people gain and for me it's because I haven't been paying attention.   I started at 266, got down to 156 and am now 166.  I have a small frame( although for years and years I told myself I was 'big boned'!)  I never did reach my goal of 130 but my surgeon was ok with 156.   I feel every single one of the 10 lbs too.  I have love handles and a belly again.  I feel like jello when I walk. So here I go.  Monday is the day.  I'm going cold turkey with the pretzels. (Even though I have 6 bags in the cupboard!).  I've got veggies and fruit lined up for snacks.  I've got the protien planned out and I'm all set.  I know planning is a huge part of success. Having made this decision to take back control, use my pouch tool, walk a little every day, and generally get down to business - I feel better already!

Good for you!  I really got determined last week to change my ways, and have done much better this week than I have done in a long time.  I haven't been totally committed like I should have been, and that is my goal for this week, but I still did overall really well with paying attention and not just hogging out all day.  I am a little over 6 years post op, and unfortunately for me, it has gotten easier and easier to act like I never had RNY in the first place!  I get so angry with myself, but it's only been lately that I have gotten angry enough to do something about it.  Like you, I feel SO FAT!!!  I feel rolls and a belly, and big 'ole thighs, and it's only at this point, about 10-12 pounds from where I was at goal, so I'm thinking "How in the world did I even move @ 275?!"  I just know one thing, and that's the fact that it is totally unacceptable to get anywhere near that way again, so I am with you all the way....we can do this.....we didn't come this far to give up over a lousy 10 pounds.  Good luck!!!!!!

gosh i feel like your taking about me, I just got out the blender this morning made two protien shakes one for breakfest and one for lunch, I'm a bit scared cause i know i will get hungrey mid day but i need to take off those 10 lbs, i feel like i am going back to my old ways of picking and eating things i shouldn't eat, we had a party for my daughters birthday and i was eating chips and cake and cookies, i felt i didn't even have the WLS. i had some food on my plate and someone said your not going to eat all that, and you know what  i did. and the next day i had a whole hamburger, which i could not have done before. i want my new eating habits back, half of a sandwich that i had a hard time eating in the past and not picking inbetween like the begining. God i hate will power. i am 3 years out and went to goal gained 7lbs but i feel like i have gained a ton with the belly and all the handle bars.

Congrats on your 100 # weight loss and for keeping it off for so long.  I'm glad to see you take control again before more pounds sneak up on you.  I started over and got back on track for the last time, enabling me to lose 22 of the 42 pounds I gained.  I am still losing.  I also went cold turkey myself and eliminated bad carbs, candy, cookies, chips, snack crackers and anything else that I know is not good for me.  Exercise and water also works wonders!  Limiting fast foods to 1 or 2 times per month instead of 3 or 4 times a week has made a huge difference. I'm saving my fast-food money for a non-food reward at every 5 # weight loss.  Other than that I did not follow any specific diet plan. Be strong, get back on track and stay in comtrol and you will lose again.  Good luck and many blessings. Char

Congrats on your decison to take control of YOUR life!! May I make one suggestion? While it may seem like a sign of strength and will power to be able to "just say no" to 6 bags of pretzels in the cabinet ("cupboard" to you..lol.."cabinet here in Tx), it might come back to bite you on the butt-then STAY there. If you're like me, and cannot stand the thought of WASTING food and money, maybe there arev neighbors nearby with kiddos who would love the donatioon, or a church or a daycare cenetr. Just a thought. You can do this!!!
