Inguinal Hernia!!! Help

Hi Terri,
Bless your heart. I can sure why this would seem scary to you. I've personally not had this problem and I don't know about this specific kinda of hernia, but hernias in general are not tha uncommon after Bypass surgery. Maybe someone with some experience in this area will write in and encourage you. In the meantime I just wanted to let you know that I will be praying for you. Let us know what happens!!! Hugs, Piggybabe
my hubby is one year out and is having surgery next Tuesday. Exact same scenario as you!
They are hoping to do it lap on an outpatient basis. He is an avid biker and they told him by the 3rd day after surgery he can do whatever feels comfortable. They told him if it hurts, stop.
They also told him if it feels hard before next Tues. to run to the ER!
I think there is some pain for at least the first 2 days so you may want to plan on taking at least those off. My hub is the world's biggest self admitted wuss about pain.
PM me after next Tuesday if you want an update and good luck!
(also, dh's hurts when it pops out. his doc suggested putting a pair of socks over it and something tight like biker shorts or spanx - that has worked to hold it in so he isn't walking around with his hand on his groin)
Hang in there!

Thank you for the information and I hope your DH is O.K. and has a speedy recovery. I didn't really freak out about the hernia until he said my bowel could push through and become twisted and I could get an obstruction { OMG!!!} that is what freaked me out!!! I know I will be O>K> my RNY DR. can perform this procedure for me and he is more than competent!!! I will be sure to check on your DH after Tuesday and I will also keep you guys in my prayers!!!
good luck, too bad you can't get a tummy tuck out of the deal!
I think the bowel worry is why my hubby's doc told him to go to the ER if it is hard. He has been living with it for a week now because he didn't listen to his wife when he first had shooting pain! :)
Hang in there, glad your same surgeon can do it!

Hey sorry to hear of your problems but maybe you can turn it around to a blessing....go see a plastic surgeon and get TT at the same time
The ins will pay for the hernia..but usually not the TT....this way you will be out already for the hernia repair and PS can come in after with a TT. Ahhh how nice that would be
wishing you the best
Cha
