I took my 1st kickboxing class last night.  I sucked but it was lots of fun and I sweat horribly; can't hardly walk today but that's another story.  It psyched me up.  I need more of the same....    I  just fell over a cool website I wanted to share.   www.meetup.com   You type in your area and all kinds of available classes and organizations come up from classic car groups to language classes, Ballroom, Salsa even Pole dancing!        Boredom is my biggest problem post-op; sends me right to foraging for food.    Somebody said we (WLSers) have a higher percentage of ADD?  Is that true?  So what do you do when you are bored and want to eat?

The kickboxing class sounds fun!!! Kinda funny to say that b/c I never would have been the one to say that exercise was fun, LOL!!!! I'm not sure about ADD,but I do suffer from OCD which has gotten worse since having surgery.  So, as far as boredom goes I like to take a walk, go to the beach, play with my sons, read a magazine, hang out online, clean~just about anything! I don't really get bored much these days b/c it seems like there's always something to do. Even yesterday my kids said they were bored so I said hop on your bikes, mom's walking, lets go and we did a quick 3miles for fun.

I have to laugh!  I went to the website and it had only two groups for my city--pagans and get Ron Paul elected for president.  You think you are bored--just move to Sioux City.  Even the airport code is SUX. I have the same problem with boredom so knit and read a lot when I can't get out.  We do have a great dog park, so when the weather is good, that's a great evening trip.   Good luck with conquering boredom; sounds like you're on the right track. Thanks Sally, you gave me a great laugh right back.   Love the airport code!!!   Guess we all tend to think we have it bad...hahahaha   I'm envious of the knitting; I do some but I'm very sloooow; i.e., I'm still knitting an afghan to impress the hubby (since we were dating-7yrs. ago!)   Maybe I'll mail it to you for something to do????

Oh my gosh, I am sooooooo addicted to my kick-boxing class!  I love it!  The more you go, the more addicted you will get because you will know all the moves and you will find yourself so pumped by it!  I can be in a really bad mood but if I go to kick-boxing, it cheers me up and I get that good "exercise high" going on.  Love it!   Ha, ha, you can probably tell I'm addicted to exercise now.  Who would have thought??? Hey Jackie - When are you bored?  After work?  Weekends?  I run errands all week, make dates with friends for dinner or to walk in the park and am taking tennis lessons.  I also journal, have a couple of women's devotional workbooks (if you're into that - I love getting/being insightful), garden, have bird feeders in the backyard, clean , or sometimes I'll pick a weekend to do a project like paint a room , go see a movie, look/organize at photos and CD's, download and revamp my Ipod, whew!!  I'm tired just listing it all. Good Luck!!

Oh Denise, let me tell you... I'm bored alot!!   Biggest problem is that my husband and I have freaky schedules that don't jive.   I'm a 9:30-8 essentially (at a job I've been doing 15yrs so the challenge is missing there too-so that's when I journal, surf, pay bills etc.) and he's 2nd shift so I get home too late to start anything with friends.   That chunk of time in the evening is a ****** to fill.  I'm usually on the net re-surfing or cleaning & doing laundry but now I move faster and get it done quicker and just want to graze while I'm waiting for him to get home.   Bed's not til 2:30am...that's alot of time to fill.    There's not too many things open at 10:30 at night to go out and do and not get arrested!    I will add the organizing of photos to my list; I've got a drawerful of those I can work on.  Thanks for the tip!
