tummy tuck how much

I am trying to find out, how much would a tummy tuck cost?  I am having it  done with my hernia, So I dont have to pay operation room cost  or hosptial stay.  has anyone had it done it like this.  my insurance will not cover the tummy tuck.  I guess I am just paying for the doctors fee?  any other suggestion to help me qualify for tt.  I have no rashes, just haning skin. thaks for any input debra

I keep hearing about $5,000 for surgeon cost - But that is not first-hand knowledge ...Maybe some others who have had this done can tell ya - DeAnna

I live near Buffalo, NY and I self paid.  My surgeon's fee for the tummy tuck was $3,500.  Surgical center fee was $1,000.  Anesthetic was $600-something. 

Go over to the Plastic Surgery Forum, they are great source of information.  The cost will vary between different states and different surgeons.  My tummy tuck and hernia repair was paid by my insurance and my same Plastic surgeon did both, but sometimes you will need a surgeon for the hernia repair and a surgeon for the tummy tuck.   Cindy Smith

if your pannus is causing medical conditions such as irritation, infections, etc. check with your insurance. my TT was covered at no cost.

that is the problem, my doctor want 6 months of rashes, which I dont have, But I have irritations, I am going to my med doctor friday, my hernia's bugle is hurting my stomach, and I cannot lift anything more. plus after I eat I feel sick.   my doctors suggested that since my insurance will pay for the hernia sneak the tt in, so I dont have to pay for the room, etc.  I dont want to wait for 6 months, I need this to be over with.  it should not cost that much, I call to doctor's sec and she quoted a 4-6,000 price range.  the question is how much to I want this, and can I afford it, because my arms, and breast still need to be done.  I will have to save to have those as well thank for the replys debra

You might want to check about having to paid the portion of the operation room and other expenses with the tummy tuck.  Generally they will submit the time and cost for the service covered under your insurance and then you have to paid for the additional time, etc for the tummy tuck.  I have four plastic surgery and everytime I had to pay for the other time in the OR room and the anesticia (spelling is wrong).

What kind of insurance do you have? Mine covered my tummy tuck with my hernia because the skin hung down past my mons and I had irritation and lower back pain. My surgeons fee would have been $4000 but since he is a PPO, it was $2800. I had to pay my deductable plus 10% of a few things, came to about $1000 in all. There are some loans for medical procedures with low interest too if that is a problem for you. Just search google or ask your plastic surgeon.

I just had a hernia repair with a lower body lift on July 27th.  Most surgoens in the Boston area charged $5,000.00 for the tummy tuck.  I know my WLS would have done the TT for $1,000.00 but I needed the incision the go all around me so I did not take that route.   My plastic surgeon was able to do both surgeries at the same time. I also was charged for the OR and anestegia(SP?) to cover the additional surgical time.  My hospital stay was covered because of the hernia repair.  Good Luck! I have medicaid, Janet because of hte hernia, i will not have to pay for or an anestegia, I might have to pay for the procedure or extra surgical time, but the hosptial stay is covered.  medicaide is a strange beast, they require so much, and now it is hurting to lift things and my hernia is getting bigger, I just want it done,  I am going to my medical doctor friday and see what he will put in the letter of recomation.  I am only getting 3 things done, arms tt and my breast.  thanks you so much debra
