Hi Deanna, I love your avatar also!!  You guys are looking so GREAT! Way to go girl and you are right the exercise does help.  The food just made me feel worst.  Great job working out and I am like you, I could be a runner real easy but the old knees give out on me as well. Keep up the great work ok? Take care, Kathy

Kathy, I am glad you are not falling into the trap of "we WLS patients are perfect now" stereotype that so many people want to put us in.  I am still the same person I was 262 lbs ago and I still have the same cravings I always had.  This procedure gave me a "tool" that helps me control myself, because I know that if I eat "non-healthy" food, I will feel like crap!!!  I am not fond of feeling that way, so it helps me to remember to eat healthier (no perfectly).  I work in an office full of "women" and they are always making comments about what I eat and don't eat and cannot understand "how" I can turn down delicious food that is brought in to our office.  I don't think too much of their comments most days, but when I am having a "weak" moment, I get really frustrated because they all look to me to encourage them "not" to eat that junk and they never think that maybe "some" days I might need their support!!!!!!  GO FIGURE??? I am proud of you for realizing that you need to leave the chocolate chip cookies alone, but don't fake yourself into thinking you will "never" want them again.  Those "devils" will always be out there and we will never forget how good they taste..........we just have to work on remembering how they make us feel after we eat them.  That's the hard part, huh??? Thanks for the encouraging words about exercising!!!  That's where I am the "most" weak!!!  I cannot get motivated to exercise on a regular basis and I don't know what to do to find that motivation. I would love to chat with you "one on one" through email, if you would like.  Email me at [email protected] and maybe we can encourage each other. Have a wonderful day and keep your chin up!!!  I hope your hubby finds a "wonderful" job soon.  I will keep both of you in my prayers. Sincerely, Shirley K.

The stresses in our life often bring those old habits back, but you recognize it and will get back on track I am sure of it.  We do all fall off that wagon from time to time.  I know I have too.  But the important thing is that we get back on the wagon and hold on harder this time.  LOL. I did move Tuesday and today already.  Yesterday I went and did weights and toning at 10:30 a.m.  Then last night I took a step and kick combo class.  Today I went and took a cycling class.  And I feel good.  She worked us out hard today.  Lots of hills and mountains.  LOL. Have a good day today dear. Melissa
