Happy Friday everyone~ This is the third day in a row that my cals are low........about 1100 ( I will explain in a second) B:  Carb freedom vanilla yogurt       special K soy protein cereal S;  1 tbsp  Coffee mate SF vanilla caramel in 10 ozs decaf coffee L:   green beans       4 ozs pot roast       1 cup romaine lettuce shredded S:  Cinnamon twist from Starbucks D: 1/4 baked potato with cheese      1/4 chicken quesadilla 80 ozs water/crystal light Cals:  800     Carbs: 57    Fats 36    Pro: 70 These numbers are off because I can't calculate for the cinnamon twist. I didn't find it on the Starbucks website.  So my new mantra is to not eat what I can't count.  Even if I gave it 400 calories, the nut. says that I need to eat 1427.  I have a hard time eating that much, since I am hyper focused on the carb number.  This elusive number that noone seems to be able to tell me where I should be at.  I am seeing my surgeon next week and I will make a third attempt at asking her. Other than that, my weight has stayed the same.  I think its because the cals are not high enough....that starvation mode thing.  I will work to get my numbers up this next week.  in fact, I am hungry right now  :0)  it is only 7:30 here in Cali......although I have been up since 4 am.  Go figure Check in tomorrow!  Have a great day! Anjanette Girl, You do definately have to work on the cal totals, as expressed by your nut, you need them up to keep in a losing cycle, has to do with messing up you metabolism if you stay too low, the sum of your day looks good though, you made solid choices, even the twist isn't terrible except that it is empty carbs that do not accompany protein...Now, as for the carbs, I'm no doc or nut, not even close, and I know there is alot of talk in the community about not eating so many carbs...But, what I do know is your brain and memory functions are tied to carbs and you cannot be too low all the time without feeling the affects, even people who are on Adkins aren't in the really low numbers forever...Personally my carbs probably range between 75-125 most days, and I really need this amount to be able to maintain, when I was still really focused on losing I kept it below 50-60 a day...And the other rule I've always tried to follow is when I do have carbs I try to pair them up with a nice protein ( ie cheese-n-crackers, open face sandwiches, etc )... Hope you can get more feedback and that my little bit of input helps... Alesia

Anita, Anita, Please do not fret, This is not a stress that is going to make it better...Take a deep breath and take a step back, take a really hard look at your choices... Ask yourself, what number is my ultimate goal, or is it a number, maybe its really to look better, feel better and do things you never could before...If its a number, how far are you, consider how far you've come and how long its been since your surgery, it takes longer further out, perhaps ALOT longer to continue losing...

For myself, I can let go of a couple up, I'm in maintenance and allow myself a few lbs of wiggle room and still be OK ( not in a panic )...If you are still working towards that elusive magic number, then it may be time to consider other options - I don't advocate the time out either way, but what is important is if you think it can work for you to jumpstart you again towards your final goal, just go into it knowing it is also a tool, just like the pouchie and work it the best you can...
