It's the sugar!  Red wine has a lot, white not as much.  This is my normal reaction to sugar, I get really hot and sweaty.

Its NOT attributable to sugar. I dont get this way eating chocolate or ben & jerrys?  Also, its the same for white whine, a beer or vodka tonics!

There are those drinks that make me sweat, I feel pressure in my chest like someone is sitting on me -- think I'm having a heart attack..... never sure what does it .... and after 30 minutes or so I'm fine again.  On the other hand I can drink beer all night long and feel fine... drunk - but fine.  I think it has to have something to do with how fast it's getting into your system. On a side note - have you all noticed that if you drink something really really cold you can get an instant brain freeze -- especially if it's through a straw......  Before my WLS I rarely got that kind of head pain....  BTW  - I am 3+ yrs out Janie

Hello-- I also get very warm if I drink, and I am pre-op. My PCP told me it was an increase in blood pressure. I get very red also when I drink. For this reason, I do drink alcohol. Blessings to you, Chris C
