Hair Help!!!!
I am almost 2 years out from surgery and I love life and my weight loss but however I hate how my hair has changed. I used to have shiny healthy hair that I could wash and go...Now it is frail and thin and looks like crap unless I spend at least an hour on it. Anyone have the same problems and anyone been able to find a product or a supplement that works well for this?
Honestly, I just cut mine short...REEEALLY short. I love it, it hides the lackluster look my longer hair had, and I even get stopped by strangers telling me how cute it is! You have the face to carry it off...give it a try, if you dare! It takes only minutes each day to style, and it never gets messy...I love mine! Good luck!!!

I was going to write exactly what Gina did - word for word. I gave up trying to make my long hair look healthy again. It was thin. It was brittle. It looked limp and lifeless. I tried tons of shampoos and leave ins. Took biotin. Nothing was going to make it like it was.
So I whacked it all off. Super super super short. Everything Gina said is true. It only takes minutes to style in the mornings. I feel so trendy and I get more compliments then ever - even before WLS. I love love love it. Except that I have to go get it cut more often - the only draw back.
And I also agree with Gina that you have the face to pull it off. Look at that jaw line and those cheeks. They're just begging for it! Yer gorgeous! :)

I was having the same problem and I had it all cut off as well because no matter what t\you use it will not help I have a very good friend who has done hair at a very elite salon she owns and she just cut all the frail stuff off and OMG what a difference it made I have never had short hair in my life but it is amazingly healthier now. I had super thick, super healthy hair before surgery. Now, it's not bad but definitely not as thick as it used to be. I agree with the folks that suggest a short, trendy cut. If your nutrition is good, and you continue to supplement with biotin and zinc, you may be able to grow your hair back out and have it be healthier than it is now.
Also, before surgery I used inexpensive shampoo and conditioner. I've been using Aveda products for the past few months and I really notice a difference in my hair. It's much softer and shinier. If there's an Aveda shop near you, I'm sure they could recommend specific products based on your hair's needs.
Good luck with this - it's a challenging issue.

Thanks for all the great advice. My new hubbie is so set on me not cutting my hair. I am trying to convince him to just wait and see that it will be cuter then the nest I have for hair right now. We will see. I will keep you all updated. I really have the urge to cut it!!!! I used to wear it short for a long time and I loved it.
