This board works magic!

Last week I posted again for the first time in a LONG time about how depressed I've been regaining 110 pounds.  And trying to get back on track.  The support from this board is phenomenal!  A couple of years ago, I was interested in a revision because we believe my stoma is too large, allowing food (lots of it) to easily slide through.  Insurance denied and I haven't pursued it.  Yesterday, I had a call from a local hospital about participating in a research study.  They are testing a new application of a tool currently used mostly in the esophagus, they want to use it on WLS patients who have openings that are too large and tighten them (stitches, then heals tighter).  It's non-invasive, through the mouth and you go home the same day.  It's pretty much a simple revision.  And would be free!  The post-procedure requirements mirror gastric bypass, so you're sure to lose weight, then hopefully the smaller opening will help maintain.  Of course, they provided a great deal of info and are sending even more.  The doctor is fairly renowned in his field.  I'm so excited!  I hope I like everything they have to say and that I qualify, this could be a miracle come true.  I am convinced that some greater good heard my plea for help and responded.  Keeping my fingers crossed....

It's not, but I actually looked at that not long ago and asked my surgeon of he was doing it.  He's not, but that's probably ow my name wound up on the study potential list.
