Getting Pregnant, what's your story?
Good morning everyone. I am new at this, but I have a question that is so important. I had wls six months ago and have lost 100 pounds. I am done loosing weight. My weight has stabilized. Before wls i could not concieve and have never been pregnant. I had Pcos. Now I have my periods every month. (Never had a period before on my own) Just wanted to know if there were any other women that went through this and wanted to know your success story. May God Bless your soul.
There are others of us who believe were thrown into menopause (or early menopause) by Weight Loss Surgery. Its VERY distressing, as I've waited until I was "healthy" to try to conceive, and they ended up cancelling my IVF cycle mid-way because I wasn't responding. The RE told me it probably wasn't even worth it for me to try again.

It happened to me. I have been pregnant 4, yes 4 times since WLS. I have PCOS so I was not ovulating and periods were sporatic. As soon as I had WLS, had my first period one month later, concieved 9 months later. Sadly that one ended in miscarriage. Became pregnant again 5 months later, had a daughter and 2 months after her birth pregnant again. I became pregnant in December. but it too ended in Miscarriage. It can definitely happen for us with PCOS.
Best Wishes
My pre-op was much like yours, PCOS, sporadic periods......the usual. The main reason I had WLS was because I wanted to get pregnant. I started having regular periods right after my RNY and have had 2 healthy babies since. I got pregnant with both of them in only one month of trying! I was so shocked that it took a while for me to believe I was actually pregnant. I had wonderful pregnancies and perfect babies. They were 7 lbs. 2 oz. and then 7 lbs. 13 oz. Now they are 3 & 5 already. Time really flies! Good luck, Molly
I too had PCOS with all the wonderful symptoms we all seem to have encountered. I got pregnant 16mos out from my WLS. Had a perfect pregnancy gained very little weight and had a beautiful 7lb 9oz baby girl. 3 months later I was pregnant again...this one was a little rougher on me just because I didn't get to heal...but still had a wonderful 8lb 9oz baby boy. I gained about 27lbs total between the 2 babies, became a little anemic but did great all in all.
Best of Luck!!!
