Please, you ask or post anything you want !! I would check with my doc, just because you should ask doc anything.....But, I am and always have been a pretty muscular gal (lol), but I did notice during the first year I lost a lot of strength, guessing losing weight that fast just ate up LOTS of muscle also, at almost 4 years out, I'm here to tell you, that probably will even back out for you (loosing lots and not able to keep muscle easily)....I am just about as strong as ever now, it took me into my second year to start feeling as strong as before... Brian-You've gotten some great advice, and I don't really have much to add, but felt lead to leave a comment anyway. I pretty much post to whatever board suits me at the moment, because I have yet to find the " Women who turn 50 today and who are white/straight/have 2 teenagers/are 5 yrs post/gain and lose daily/have the nick name "Nurse Diva" and have been around OH for 6 yrs".. board. maybe I should contact OH about adding another message board....hmmmmm

I think Lynn, wasn't trying to be rude, only stating what is posted 1'st on the board which is the purpose of the WLS grad board. "The purpose of this board is to get support for those who are over 1 year post-op. Maybe you've had some weight gain, want to lose additonal pounds, or you're maintaining. Whatever the case might be this is an additional place to get the support you need. Welcome to the WLS Grads board" Can't we all be a little forgiving and give her the benefit of the doubt. I think it was said in innocence.
Peace and Blessings, Melinda

Hi Brian and welcome to the board.  Ignore the rude comment.  It was one and the rest were very supportive, and that is what we are here for.  I agree with the others that your body will stabalize but do start writing down all your questions for your upcoming doc visit.  I took me a year and 5 months to reach my goal, and I am over 2 years out now, and due to excess skin in the tummy, I STILL see myself as FAT alot of times, even though I am below my goal of 135 with current weight being 127.  It just takes time for our minds to catch up hon. Post here anytime. Hugs, April 275/127/135  5'1 highest/current/goal

Having some place to go is home. Having someone to love is family.  Having both is a blessing.

Well, count yourself lucky at this point.  I used to be the same way, but now at 2yrs post op (Aug 24th) I am finding I am not losing anymore like I used to, and I have to watch what I eat.   Enjoy it while you can!!!   Get below goal, and that way you will have a few pounds to play with.  I did the same thing.  I would like to lose about 10 more pounds, which would be 20 under goal, but I am having plastics next month with fat grafting, so I am not going to argue, because the more fat I have, the more fat he will be able to use to graft to my buttocks. Just don't worry now, as long as you are getting in protein, your body will stop when it is comfortable.  That is the best way to go, because in another 8 months, you will stop losing easily. Congrats!!!! Deb
