Accountability - What did you eat, Tuesday 7/17?

Hey, Hey, Everyone... Well, did not get my gym time in yesterday , already got tonight jammed up, so will shoot for Friday to do water aerobics once again...Food yesterday wasn't too bad, did better on carbs then I have in a long time... B - 2 protein balls S - 1 oz lf cheddar       10 mini cheddar pretzels L - 1/4 cup crab dip w/ 2 1/2 cheese cracker twists       1/4 baked beans       1/4 cup glazed carrots S - 1 oz choc mousse cake ( its finally gone, been pickin' at it )       6 honey roasted cashews       1 choc dipped mini pretzel D - 1 cup nachos with ground beef, imitation crab, peppers, onions & guacamole       couple bites cold stone creamery S - white choc/strawberry Protein on the go PLUS - 82 oz water/crystal light TOTALS  =     Cals - 1338     Fat - 79     Carbs - 89    Protein - 81 Way too many trips to "real" sugar tasting today, small enough tastes to avoid dumping, but still, don't want this to be habit forming...Back on track today...I AM THE CAPTAIN Until later...Alesia

hi alesia, well i know i needed more protein. today will be better. i hope..... wasnt sure on the calories for that cheeseburger so didnt find it in fitday. so today will be better. i will up the protein. i just dont want to be eating all day to do that. you know what i mean.  B- l&f orange mango yogurt ( 1 serving) flax seed meal ( 1 serving ) 

L- 1 Cheeseburger, dressed on bun - went to a resturant

D- 1/3 c. Spaghetti, cooked, fat added in cooking 1/2 Spaghetti sauce w/ combination of hamburger,onion,garlic  1 T. parm. cheese

S- atkins cho. pb bar ( 1 serving )

S- 1 c. watermelon

S- 2 c.air popped popcorn in oil

S- 6 oz. sf. jello S- 5 round crackers

exercise: went to the hospital gym for an hour also did hand weights at home

16 oz. def. coffee 120 oz. plain water

Hi Anita, Todays totals look better, yesterday wasn't bad, but today looks way better...Don't worry about the burger out, they can't do much to hamberger to really make the cals out of wack, its the topping you have to watch out for, if it had alot of exotic stuff on top that may affect the total somewhat, but the good news is hamberger is a great protein source, so think of it in a positive way... Know what you mean about feeling like you're eating all day to get in so many cals, need to try and chunk up at meal times, maybe take a few minutes longer to eat and get a little more in so you really do have a break between meals to get in some drinking time... U are doing great , keep it up, OK...Alesia

hi alesia, i'm glad my my foods was better than yesterday. yes i did have mayo and ketchup on the burger and i did eat the bun.. yup i choose the hamburger since it was protein. you mean ate more stuff at my meals? i am trying to do good.... anita

B-- 1 slice whole wheat toast with peanut butter, 1 cup light orange juice L-- 1/2 ham and cheese on whole wheat, 8 strawberries, 1/2 serving Sun Chips S-- 2 protein balls D-- creamed chicken, 1/2 english muffin S-- chocolate chip cookie Calories:  1462     Carbs:  145      Protein:  69 Exercise: I went to the gym and ran for 3 miles on the treadmill and then walked for 1 mile.  I just love the feeling it gives me to run!  Woo hoo! Today I started off my day with a protein drink ... I'm trying to increase my protein.  And I have my menu layed out for the day so hopefully I'll stick to it! Deanna

Hey Deanna, Lookin' good girl...I have to say that I think it is a great idea to add a protein drink at the beginning of the day to help increase your protein intake...I might be slightly prejudice in this respect, because I start have one every day and have since I was given go ahead to begin full liquid diet way back @ 3 weeks post surgery...I still think this is the best way to start the day ...

Good Morning~ I thought that I would start posting here as another layer of accountability to myself.  I do use sparkpeople but just need another something. For yesterday..........   Breakfast:   3 tbsp scrambled eggs, 2 slices bacon Snack:        SF english toffee latte made at home decaf/nf   Lunch:        6 ozs orange roughy, 1 cup salad no dsg, 10 green beans      Snack:        1 container low carb/low sugar yogurt (6oz)                                      Dinner:       Chicken Caesar Salad, no dsg   4 oz chicken, 2 cups lettuce, 6 saltines Dessert:     1 low carb Breyes chocolate fudscicle Total for the day:     910 calories          61 carbs      25 fat          81 protein. Water: 60 ozs of fluid.   I would like to decrease carbs and protein a little bit more and increase the water.  It was a better day than some that I have had.

Hello Ms. Nursygirl Welcome to our accountability board...Glad to hear you are currently using a food tracker, it is definately on of the best ways to keep up with accounting for your food actions...You don't say, but I see you are 2 years out, so was wondering if you have reached your goal yet?  I checked out your personal page, but it only shows your BMI as 11.3, is that a typo? Anyway, I wanted to say you are doing a GREAT job with your food choices ...I think your carb level is pretty good unless you are still in the extreme losing phase you need to keep the carbs up a little in order for your brain and body to function right...Also you might think about a few more cals in a day too, most docs & nuts agree that under 1000 ruins your metabolism and keeps your body in constant starvation mode, perhaps a low carb protein drink once a day would be a good way to increase protein, keep carbs low and also add just a few more cals into the mix (just a suggestion)...

Keep making good, healthy choices, you are doing really well...See ya soon, come on back...Alesia

Alesia~ Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my post and for your great suggestions.  I saw my nut yesterday and she suggested more calories, less protein (I was eating over 100 grams and I am not that active)  I am having a hard time getting my cals up though.  Today, as you will see tomorrow are only 904 but my protein is 82 and my carbs are 100.  Not sure what to change though. I will keep tracking and see what else I can do to shake things up.   My BMI now is 25, was at my goal of 147 for 1 year...have gained 3 lbs in the last 3 weeks and kind of nervous about it....hence the trip to the nut. Will be having my 2 year tune up in 10 days ( a little late but worth the wait) to check on my labs. As I said, I will keep at it and keep posting to the accountability thread.  If you have any more suggestions, send them my way..   2 years out doesn't mean I know everything.  Actually, I feel like I don't know anything at all some days. Well I have to tell you.. Yesterday I found these really cool hard candies made with crystal light.. 4 of the was only 25 calories and since I was driving all over LA I figured I could eat a few.... OMG.. ok so I bite hard candy so I ate a few of them... than all of a sudden my tummy said what.. what are u doing.. growling louder than I ever heard. I spent 6 hours, 4 gas-x on the floor trying to get the gas out.. I was miserable all night.. that sugar alchol is a bad thing.. dang my tummy is just to sensitive... Feel better today but that bag of candy went in the trash.. never again..

Food was ok.. i did eat some dinner which probably wasnt a good choice as my tummy was hurting but stupid me thought it might help..

B- Protein drink and cherries

S- protein bar

L- Chicken in a can

S- protein balls

S- crystal light candy

D- steak with some cheese

S- ice cream

totals calories...1,301, carbs... 54, fat... 70 protein...132

so I am off to run around los angeles again.. busy few days for me.. see you later.
