I had GB 3 years ago and lost 150 pounds.  I have maintained my current weight (155) since having my two plastic surgeries (total lower body lift 1 year ago and thighplasty 6 months ago)  My diet and exercise routines have not changed, but I am having a hard time keeping most foods down.  I don't eat red meat or anything high in fat, but even foods that have always been "safe" are making me sick now.  I'm not throwing up food, mostly bile, saliva (sorry so graphic:) and air bubbles.  But it lasts from an hour to up to 7 hours after I eat.  It makes me never want to eat again!  Has anyone had any problems with this this far post-op? Or have any suggestions?  Thanks!

Hi.  I was a bandster for 18 months and recently had to have it removed due to complications which started with a slip.  You are giving every sign that you also have a slip. You really do need to go back to your band doc and discuss this with him/her.  I had heard and perhaps you too, that you would be horribly sick with a slip and would know automatically that something was wrong.  I found that the symptoms of my slip began much more subtely with only a few occassions of vomiting  which I ignored until I could almost not eat or drink anything at all without vomiting.  I never could identify any single event that seemed to be the cause of the slip and perhaps you might not be able to either. Fixing a slip can be easy - just getting a complete unfill and going on pure liquids for a few weeks or may require surgery to reposition or remove the band.  Talk to you doc and see what is going on.  Good luck.

When you say bile, saliva, air bubbles do you mean like the foamies??? Just wondering b/c I will still get things stuc****asionally if I don't chew well enough  or if I accidently swallow something too quickly~sometimes I throw up and sometimes I just sit in pain until it passes, but I will have the same thing of saliva w/air bubbles the whole time until something moves. Sometimes it lasts 30min and other times it lasted for hours and its very uncomfortable and  painful. Does this sound anything like what you're describing?? I would say if its happening all the time on a consistent basis then I would call your surgeon and see what they think.

What does your doctor say? Have you been scoped? YOu could have a stricture. Get it checked out - it's not normal to have those problems now.
