Hey, all. New grad here.  I had my RNY Surgery on July 5th, 2006.  Liquid diet on the 4th was mighty ornery. I did amazingly well in the beginning, but now I am fighting for every pound.  But hey, life is about struggle, right?  It keeps us grounded in reality.  I'm currently down 191 pounds, and I still have about 80 pounds to go. Over all, getting this surgery was one of the best decisions I eve made.

Welcome aboard, Jim!!  And congrats on your terrific weight loss!!    This is a great place for support and ideas!  Just keep plugging away - it does get tougher the longer out you are, but as long as you keep following good eating and making sure to exercise, you'll do great!!

Hugs,
Connie

Hey, you are a surgery date buddy to me! I had my surgery as well on July 5th, 2006! Cool! I threw up the day of my liquid diet (the day before) due to having a migraine caused by the nerves of surgery! LOL! I definitely am having to work this surgery. I was a slow loser right off the bat probably due to the significant amount of weight that I'd lost before surgery. By the time I had surgery, I had no water weight to fly off of me so no big numbers for a while. I found exercising regularly really changed my slow loser status. With exercise and eating healthy I can still even now lose 3 lbs in a week. I find that amazing!  I love my treadmill!! Well some days I hate it too! LOL!  I tend to do somewhere between 2-4 miles on it when I get on it - I'm currently pushing myself to be more regular as the last 2 weeks I've been more sporadic with my exercise.  But I am hoping to get into running so that I can eventually boost up my metabolish. Glad to hear that you are doing so well despite having to work off every pound!!  Dawn
