Red meat and gagging???

Hello everyone! I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that has problems with red meat? Since surgery, I don't eat much red meat.  I usually use ground turkey or chicken whenever I cook.  Occasionally I'll have some ground beef in something that I buy from a restaurant.  My sister gave me some t-bone steaks and I grilled them on the BBQ tonight and the smell of it is making me gag.  I can't bring myself to eat it because it's turning my stomach so bad. Everyone else loves them and thinks they are great. Is anyone else gagging over red meat?  Am I weird?  I feel like I could throw up if I think about it enough.  Yuck, I hate this feeling!  There goes my dinner plans for tonight! Deanna

I struggled with meat for a long time.  I also stopped trying for 6 months.  I now eat marinated flank steak and chew extra good!  As for the smell, who knows, it could be hormones, not related to surgery?

It would be great to hear from others on this!

Good lucK

I love eating red meat and do a couple of times a week.. if I dont chew it really well I have problems. The smell doesn't bother me at all.. I would hate if that happened.. now I cant do hamburger or lower end meats.. they make me but you can pass the steak over here.. I do have to eat it a little more done now but I will live with it.

I still don't really care for red meat either~I've had some very lean burger in things like chili or tacos, but haven't had a steak since before surgery. It doesn't always settle well and I just don't have a taste for it anymore. I would much rather have chicken or turkey. I figure there's plenty of protein out there that I do like so I'll just take a pass on the red meat for the most part.

I cannot eat beef either. the chew thing gets me. It grows. the more i chew the bigger it gets. I cannot swallow it. I quit trying. I can eat ground beef sometimes. Mostly i cook with ground turkey. I am almost 4 years out and i eat a lot of cheese, peanut butter, etc. Hang in there.
