I was wondering if any of you find that life has changed now that you have a new body. Do you have new interests, maybe met the love of your life. Have love relationships just left you baffeled? What has changed for you besides your clothes size?

Oh, yes, my life has changed dramatically in many ways.  I met the love of my life after my life-changing surgery, we've been married about 20 months and life is wonderful!   Sheryl P.S.  And I'm on of the re-gainers, even! P.P.S.  Working on that too :))

My outlook on life has changed.  I am so happy!  Plus, I did meet the man of my dreams and we are getting married in less then 4 months!  I met him 11 months post-op.  I would have never met him if I weighed 300+ pounds.  I know that's sad to say, but it's true.   Also, I have more confidence in every aspect of my life.  I use to let people push me around because I didn't want to draw attention to myself by rocking the boat, now I don't take very much crap from people.  I am not rude about it, but I can tactfully speak my mind.     I use to be happy hiding out in my house, now I get cabin fever if I am not out doing something.  It doesn't have to be major, just shopping, spending time with friends, reading a book at a coffee shop, whatever.   Life is so good!

I was hoping the surgery would help me to be more engaged in life again. Sounds like it worked for both of you. May your love and your love of life last forever.

I have a life now. I'm 6 years out (almost) and live each day to the fullest. I feel much younger, I'm happy and healthy. I can do anything I put my mind to which has helped me in my work and my personal life. I hike, bike, horseback ride, kayak, canoe, white water raft, camp, I climbed a mountain last summer- getting to just under 10,000 ft, I take kids on wilderness treks, I rode in a roundup a couple summers ago, spending 4 days on a horse and loving it. I've been married for 30 years, and my husband and I now take vacations that include exercise - hiking old ruins, skiing, mountain biking and we hiked the trail in the Grand Canyon one year. With the ability to get out and do things and test myself I've also found the self esteem goes sky high - which helps in all other areas of our lives. I bought a motorcycle when I had been at goal for a year. A beautiful Harley Davidson and learned to ride. I am now on my second Harley, love riding, have met so many people to ride with and am having the time of my life. It only gets better - I lood forward to each new day and what it brings me and what new experience I can find. I have more friends, many made through support groups and post ops like I am. I have a network or women friends I hang out with regularly. Life is good and none of this would have been possible without weight loss surgery.Jen
