Dance videos for exercise?

I posted this to the exercise forum... and thought I would throw it out there to all of you.... I would love to be able to dance with some confidence, I am so self conscious about dancing in public... (Come on .... you have all seen the really large lady at a wedding who dances badly but doesn't know it!) I actually wish I could do that, maybe she has the right idea!  Anyway, we have to exercise to lose so why not combine the exercise with something I have always wished I could do! Any suggestions on videos? My hubby is from Brazil and they love to Samba but any thing like that would be awesome... I have only seen one for Salsa dancing and I don't remember the name but it was definately for an intermediate dancer!  How about one for a "dance challenged" girl like me???

My husband and I took a class at our rec center.  It was fun, but we've forgotten every single thing!  A video is a great idea, you can take your time and review it when needed.  Googling Samba for beginners gets some good hits!  Christy Lane has a whole series, including ballroom dancing for beginners, but I haven't used any yet... http://www.christylane.com/videos.htm There are great lists for beginners under instructional dance on this site: http://www.activevideos.com/?gtse=goog>kw='dance%20videos' And here's one on Belly Dancing, which i think if I did in the privacy of my own home , would lead to me being more graceful when trying to dance in public: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art2711.asp

Hi Jen, thanks for all the ideas... I have tried the belly dancing for weight loss and boy is it ever a workout!!  My hubby and I did the ballroom dancing class too and we don't remember either!!! I read your other post, don't lose hope... Get on the "time out" plan and keep coming to the board for support... You can do this!!!
