Tanya  I'm going on 5 year post op. I've pretty much been in the same weight  range since 1 year out. My weight tends to flux between 140-146. My orginal goal was to get to 165-170. My lowest weight was 138, but I don't count that because I was 1 week post op hernia repair and couldn't get out of bed and was heavily medicated because I was in SEVERE pain.  Donna open rny mar 18 2003 282/144/140

I am 18 months out and have gained back 10 lbs. I also feel much healther at the weight I am at. I was down to 175 and i was always lightheaded and tired. Now Im at 185 (pre plastics) and I feel good, better I supose then I ever have in my life. My hightest weight was 369 so I have come a very long way. My weight goes up and down on a daily basis.  I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday but I still do and I know it is what keeps me on track. Good luck to everyone on there life long journy.

Hi.  I think you look great and have made an awesome transformation.  I'll be 2 years 3 months out on the 18th and I have NOT gained weight back.  My goal was 135 and I reached it a year and 5 months out (last September) and have maintained between 130-137 since then.  Week before last I was off for some mental rest/vacation, and got bored by the end of the week, so did my daily 3 mile walk twice for 3 days and dropped 4.5 lbs so that encouraged me to try it a few more day and lower my calories a bit and see if I could drop a couple more, and I have and am now at 127 so am going for 125.  I walk the 3 miles every day unless just impossible, and I weigh daily and I still do Chicometrics 2-3 times per week.  I have lost 10 lbs and 30 inches since the ned of April when I resumed doing Chico after a few month break from it, so just know WE CAN DO THIS and we will.  We have come too far, worked too hard to go back the other way. Though I do eat chips fairly regularly now, it is in small amounts.  I love sweets and always did, but now I make SF things and still do major portion control and accountabilty. Best of luck for continued success. April 275/127/135  5'1 below goal highest/current/goal

I'm an April '05 WLSer.  I work hard to stay where I am.  I eat fewer carbs if I feel heavier (or if the scale says I am -- I weigh about every 2 weeks).  As for the 10% gain, if it comes it comes.  I don't want to have to kill myself to stay where I am and if it gets too hard then I'll let myself gain some. I'm thinner than I ever thought I'd be (or expected to be) and would be happy if I were somewhat heavier as well.  Now, this doesn't mean I want to gain back 50lbs.  Just that I won't go nuts if I find it's become too hard to hold this weight as the years go by.  All in all, though, I eat well and often.

Hi. I hadnt lost anything for about 10 months but in May I decided to step it up a notch. I started going to sparkpeople.com and putting in everything that went into my mouth and tracked everything even if it was bad. I started going to the gym 6-7 nights a week and I cut my carbs back to 20-50 a day and my calories are usually under 800 a day. I have pretty much lost my appetite since then. I dont really get hungry at all now but I eat because I know I have to. Before May I ate everything in site. I went to buffets about once a week and was miserable. I wasnt gaining but I wasnt losing either and I wasnt where I wanted to be. I weighed 332 in the beginning (Aug 05) and in May when I changed my lifestyle I weighed 165. Today sparkpeople has changed my life and I now weigh 145. I feel great. I am scheduled to see a plastic surgeon next Wednesday. Good luck you will do great! Just track everything it really helps a lot!

I am 2 1/2 years out. My lowest weight was 144 at about 10 months out to low of a weight for me. I looked sick. I now stay at 153/155 with out to much effort. I work out 3 days a week and watch what I eat.

Hi Tanya! Wow, I just read thru everything and you've gotten some great responses!!!! I am 2.5yr post op~my lowest was 150, but that is quite hard for me to maintain so I allow myself to bounce around in the 150's and when I start getting to the higher end I buckle down and really watch b/c I hope to never see 160 again. So far my strategy is working! Maintenance is scary b/c I was never good at it before so sometimes I feel like "will it work this time?" Thankfully things are going well so far and I hope it continues. I try to eat properly (most of the time) and I keep up a pretty good work out schedule.  Wishing you continued success and Congratulations to You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
