Hi, Just wondering if drinking beer can stretch your pouch?  Also I love this website but was wondering if anyone knew what happened to the support group Spotlighthealth.com. Any responses whould be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jenn

Simple scientific principles would say that your pouch is a receptacle with two openings, one for in and one for out. Anything liquid will go in one end and out the other very rapidly (unless the pouch is full of food!!!!).  It would therefore NOT be possible for a liquid to stretch your pouch. Carbonation may make you feel that you are stretched but releasing the gas up or down will relieve this feeling. Kim

REALLY? I had always heard that the carbonation would stretch the pouch.  Is this a myth?  I do drink soda but not beer. I would caution anyone about drinking alcohol, I don't drink beer but I have had mixed drinks and it's very easy to switch addictions from food to alcohol.  I had heard this and truth be told I did experience that myself and had to stop the bad behavior. I'm interested in the facts on the carbonation stretching the pouch.
