HEY GUYS ITS BEEN A FEW DAYS, HOW IS EVERYONE DOING THAT HAS CUT OUT THE SUGAR AND CARBS DOING LATELY, IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 3 WEEKS SINCE WE STARTED THIS POST, LETS KEEP IT GOING AND KEEP ENCOURAGING THOSE THAT ARE TRYING TO LOSE THE REGAIN. AS FOR ME I AM DOWN 11 POUNDS AND 32 TO GO TILL MY PERSONAL GOAL.. AND SOME ENCOURAGMENT ON THIS DAILY HEAD BATTLE WOULD BE SO HELPFUL... LETS POST SOME GREAT NEWS ON YOUR SUCCESS!!!

I had started about 3 weeks ago doing modified - trying to drastically up my protein with shakes and a protein/salad a day and try to stay away from carbs. I had dropped about 10 pounds but with some grazing this past week - my total is now down 6. BUT - I feel like I am getting a handle on my carb & sugar cravings - I'm not doing it perfectly - but I do feel like I am making progress. And after almost 5 years post op (with not ever getting to goal) and with a 30 pound regain - I am thankful to be feeling like I am gaining control again. I appreciate all the messages of support we all give each other too!

Hi!  Can I join in?  I really need to get rid of the evil carb monster.  I have found for the past several days I do really good and have no problems until about 3pm.  I don't know why that's the magical time that sugar starts calling but I've noticed that's my pattern.  Any words of wisdom from those of you that have been successful.  I am battling a 20 pound regain.  I am going to the beach in 11 weeks and just want to be back in control of my eating so I can feel better about myself.  I was telling my husband last night that regaining these 20 pounds and not being able to control my carb intake makes me feel like I am 252 pounds again.  I am looking forward to posting with you all!  Have a great day!!

Just started yesterday!  DH wanted to do Atkins again so I said I'd go along with him.  I also need to tame the carb monster. Yesterday:  21 net carbs Today:  37 net carbs    WooHoo!!!!!  So much better than the 100 I wa****ting!

GOOD AFTERNOON,  WE CAN AND WILL LOSE THIS WEIGHT... WHEN THE SUGAR MONSTER, MINE IS CRACKER MONSTER HIT**** THE PAVEMENT, WALK, DO EXERC. OR SOMETHING THAT GETS THE FOOD AWAY AND OUT OF REACH... MINE IS USALLY AROUND 6:00 OR SO WHEN I NEED TO COOK FOR MY GUYS...  GOOD LUCK AND I WEIGH ALL THE TIME, KNOW YOU SHOULDNT BUT FOR ME SEEING EVEN THE SLIGHTEST PROGRESS HELPS ALOT AND KEEPS ME MOTIVATED.... POST YOUR LOSSES AS THEY COME SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO HELP ONEANOTHER,,,, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, WE ARE TAKING BACK CONTROLL AND IT FEELS GREAT... PS.. I am trying to cut the carbs out.....its a hard process!  But little by little I will get there.  The last two days I have upped protein which is good. Now I need to document!!!!  How do we get back to documenting what is going in the mouth. Debbie

Hello to everyone its been awhile since i've been one here and i've really missed alot. i thought the i was alone and didn't want to post about the sugar, but i'm having a time with it, have not gained YET but afraid,that if i don't do something i will . thanks  for this, it helped and let me know that i'm not along. we can conqueor this and end up with the VICTORY.

I actually started the sugar busters diet over a week ago because I am diabetic.  I had lost 120 lbs after RNY and I am over 5 years post op and regained 30.  I was eating all the wrong things and my blood sugars were steadily climbing.  On the SB diet  (low glycemic index diet) my blood sugars are much better in just one week.  However the scale isn't moving the way I want it to move.  I dieted the week before but not following any structured diet.  I had lost about 7 lbs, then this week the scale showed that 4 of those lbs came back .  I'm very frustrated.  I'm exercising about an hour a day at least 6 days a week.  Brisk walks, using machines at home, a gazelle, exercise bike and weight training machine.  I know my health is the most important thing, but I really want to see steady results on the scale too.   Sucess comes in many ways but my feeble mind only equates success to the number on the scale.

HI EVERYONE, I NEED, DESPERATELY, TO JOIN THIS GROUP. I'VE BEEN AWOL FROM THE REGULAR OH SITE FOR MANY REASONS, BUT I THINK I NEED YOU GUYS AND YOUR SUPPORT. I AM ON A SUGAR BINGE LATELY, AND CARBS TOO AND NEED IDEAS ON HOW TO BREAK THIS HABIT. I'VE GAINED ABOUT 30 LBS FROM MY LIGHTEST AND THAT DOESN'T BOTHER ME, BUT THE EXTRA 22 TO MY PERSONAL GOAL DOES BOTHER ME. I STARTED OUT AT 299 AND LOST DOWN TO 176 FOR MY LIGHTEST AND WENT TO 183 FOR QUITE A WHILE. NOW I'M UP TO 202 - 205 AND WANT TO GET BACK TO 180 AND STAY THERE. THERE IS A LOT OF STRESS IN MY LIFE, FROM HUBBY TROUBLE, GRANDKID PROBLEMS, DEPRESSION AND BI POLAR AND PANIC ISSUES. I FEEL LIKE I'M LOSING CONTROL, I'M FAILING AT THIS WONDERFUL GIFT CALLED "THIN". I'M 5 FOOT 8 INCHES TALL AND 180 SEEMS TO BE A GOOD WEIGHT FOR ME, AND I'M 57 YRS OLD, YOUNG, LOL. I DON'T NEED TO BE PENCIL THIN, I DON'T WANT TO BE PENCIL THIN, I LOOK SICK THAT WAY. EVERYONE TELLS ME I LOOK GOOD AT THIS WEIGHT, BUT I LOOK THINNER THAN I ACTUALLY AM. MY HOME LIFE IS A MESS, I GET SO DOWN I CAN'T AND DON'T EXERCISE. UNTIL RECENTLY THAT IS. THEN I SAW THE NUMBERS ON THE SCALE AND I GOT MY BUTT INTO EXERCISING AGAIN. WALKING AND DOING MOVEMENTS TO  MUSIC, NOT DANCING, JUST WORKING DIFFERENT MUSCLES. I'LL MAKE ANY EXCUSE NOT TO EXERCISE EVEN THOUGH I ENJOY DOING IT, SO WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? I'M ON NEW ANTI-DEPRESSANT MEDS AND THAT'S NOT HELPING EITHER. CAN YOU ALL GIVE ME SOME IDEAS HOW TO START THIS JOURNEY AGAIN? I'M TRYING, HONESTLY, BUT - SEE THERE'S ALWAYS A BUT IN HERE - I CAN'T DO IT ALONE, I NEED YOUR SUPPORT.
