Just wondering if any one knows of a  dietician who works with bariatric patients located in the Long Island or NYC  area who will work with another doctor bariatric patient.  I've called a few places and no one will return my call. I'm going on 5 years post op and just feel like I have horrible eating habits. I want to get on a more structure plan and I just don't know how to do this. At 5 years post op, I have no idea how much and what I should be eating ? I'll post on the New York board, too. I would great appreciate any leads!!!! Thanks, Donna open rny mar 18 2003 282/145/140

Try www.doryferraro.com /Long Island Bariatric Center.  I know they work with Bandsters who are Banded by other docs, so I'm assuming this means they'll work with RNYers too.  Dietician's name is Nancy Rau and she has worked at St. Luke's as well. "She recently joined the staff of the Long Island Bariatric Center and brings with her over a decade of experience in weight and lifestyle counseling. She earned her masters degree in Nutrition from New York University. She holds certifications in adult weight management and as a diabetes educator. She is an intervention lifestyle counselor for the Look AHEAD Study at the Obesity Treatment Center at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York."

Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin.  I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby.  5 years out from revision to VSG.  Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(

When I first starting looking into the surgery, I went to Columbia Presbyterian for an info session. I was really impressed by everyone on the staff, and had planned to go there but they were not in my network. They gave us a lot of useful information, much of it on nutrition.  This is the web site for more info: http://www.columbiasurgery.org/pat/obesity/news_ob.html Good luck!
