Hi,,, I never felt the nodules.. until they started to grow.... my surgeon said that 90 percent of people will form them in their lifetime... some will have symptoms.. some will not.. They claim they don't kill you but then again they really weren't able to tell me much and neither was the internet so I went on gut feelings and had the whole thing removed.  My surgeon went as far to tell me that they biopsy really old dead people and find they had them .. but with us.. I kind of buy the Lymphatic system stories the techs and nurses at the hospital were telling me.... I haven't been able to get a dr to confirm thou... I have an appointment tommorrow w/my endocronologist.. I will ask her her thoughts.  You really should be seeing an endocronologist if you are having thyroid Issues.. please consider this soonest.. as I really/ truly believe in specialists... Don't mess arround here... it is too important.. you are doing so great and have come so far.. I am envious of your success and only hope I can back to lossing now that this is past me..

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

I am calling my doctor to have some updated bloodwork done. Some of the values below were done 9/25/06 and some were done on 12/04/06. All the thyroid tests have been every 6 weeks since 12/06 trying to get the T4 up. The reason for the two different test dates is because I got a new primary care and he run alot of bloodwork that my WLS had not ever checked. iron 117 (26-170) ferritin 73 (12.0-150.0) folate 19.33 (5.00-30.90) Vit B6 16 (5-50) vit B1 0.7 (0.5-1.5) vit B12 1336.0 (243.0-894.0) calcium 9.5 (8.3-10.4) PTH 38.6 (15.0-65.0) vit A not checked vit D (25) - 25 Hydroxy D = 30, 25hydroxy D2 = <4.0, 25Hydroxy D3= 30 (ref. D2+D3 optimum levels in normal population are 25-80) zinc 0.88 (0.66-1.10) protein 6.8 (6.0-8.2) Alb/Glob 1.7 (1.2-2.2) pre-albumin 21.7 (18.0-44.5) Selenium 134 (95-165) My doctor did mention my vit B1 could be a little better but it hadn't changed in a year. I am calling tomorrow for an appointment to discuss bloodwork updates with him and my off and on lower energy. I work out with a trainer pretty vigorously 2-3 times a week weight training. I wonder if I should up my protein? That still wouldn't change my thyroid levels though. Lora

My thyroid levels were a little off, so I changed my daily vitamin/meds scheduled so that I'm not taking it with my calcium.  It did improve my levels. Good Luck, Suzanne
