Lost Track of Myself

Hi Tracy, I would just like to encourage you--because I think YOU are the biggest encourager of everyone who posts on this board!! You always have kind words--not just full of "nicey-nice" that doesn't really mean anything, but REAL encouragement, suggestions, or whatever is needed! Most of us women, and I think especially formerly MO women, struggle with claiming what we need for ourselves. During the time that we were in the losing weight phase of our wls, we HAD to pay attention to our needs, but now that we are more-or-less just like everyone else, we just blend into the woodwork UNLESS we make a huge effort not to! Being a wife, mom, friend, church servant, or whatever--all these roles are truly important, BUT so is "just being us"!!
You have done a spectacular job of keeping your weight in check--unlike me, who has re-gained 25-30 lbs. in the past year (after losing all my weight in the first year and then maintaining nicely the 2nd year). I am SO determined to get it back off and FEEL BETTER, just like you said! It's so true--when we eat crap, we feel like crap, regardless of whether we "get away with it" on the scale! About the only thing that I've continued to do is exercise (although I even fizzled out on that a few months in the late spring). But I'm back on track with that, and hopefully, with the weight loss.
It's extra, extra hard when you have company, so don't beat yourself up right now. I admire you for trying to get a grip even while your people are still there! You will "get back to yourself"--I have no doubt. You'll feel so much better when you exercise, eat better choices, and just plain get more sleep. We so often don't pay attention to the part that sleep has on our overall well-being and weight maintenance.
You've done SO WELL--you'll be fine--in the next week while you still have company, just do what you can to get back on track, even just little things, and then--you'll be ready to get back to your normal routine soon!
Take care--and happy weekend!
Always,
Jo
Hey girl!!! I know that it is hard to put yourself first..... heck, just putting yourself second, third or fouth is a challenge but when it comes to your health you need to make time for you! I know you keep your family together and do everything! (You are so the giver!!!) But you know what, if you get down, everything is going to fall apart! LOL!!! Remember that although everyone else is important, if you don't take care of you, then you won't be able to take care of the others!!!! Hope you get some "YOU" time soon!!! Valerie :)
