Advice on Protein Supplements

Hi everyone, I just ordered the sample kit from Bariatric Eating so that I can try what is available now, when I had my surgery there were only a few and they were nasty!!! I would like to try Isopure and AchieveOne also, but I wondered if anyone knows where you can purchase just one to try. I really hate most of them that I have tried and don't want to buy cases of something that I might hate. Another question, the Davinci SF syrups... are they sold in the mini bottles anymore? I remember seeing them in the past but for the life of me I can't remember where!!! I would love to "try" new flavors but the bottles are huge... Thanks, Lisa

Lisa I just ordered about 10 samples from Vitalady.com.  She has a wide variety of different brands and flavors.  I know she also sells the SF syrups but not sure if they come in trial sizes or small bottles.  I ordered the unjury trial packets as well.  If you buy protein powder from the Vitamin Shoppe I was told that it could be returned if I did not like it and get something else.  I am preparing for plastic surgery and I need it increase my protein.  So I am trying to do this through trial and error the cheapest way so I don't have all this protein powders that I don't like. Good Morning, Lisa!  Have you tried the Syntrax Nectar protein? I really like the fuzzy navel flavor. And here's the secret with protein shakes.....mix any of the fruit flavors with Crystal Light! They taste so yummy that way! They go down so much better if they taste good!  And the previous poster is correct, if you buy anything at Vitamin Shoppe and it does not work for you, (even if it's a yucky taste...) you can take it back and exchange it for something else.

Good morning, I ordered about 15 sample packs from Vitalady of the Syntrax Nectar flavors.  I've only tried the Fuzzy Navel so far and although the taste wasn't so bad - I couldn't get past the horrible odor as you took the cup to and from your nose.  It also left a bad aftertaste in your mouth.   How do you cope with these issues?  I would love to use the remaining samples, but so far haven't been able to get myself to deal with the smell and aftertaste. Keep trying samples. You may find one you like. And what you don't like today, you may like next month or the month after. That's been my experience. To help get past the smell and aftertaste - lots of ice, drink through a straw. You can even put it in the freezer to make a slushy.  All protein isn't yucky. I've found a few that are actually tasty. IDS vanilla cinnamon and Matrix 5.0 chocolate are what I like, but everyone is different. Jeanie

Walmart sells small bottles of sf davinci syrups for about $2.50 a bottle in my area, its probably a 12 oz bottle size and they are in the aisle with the coffee...Isopure is available in singles at my local GNC...I've had not luck finding the singles in the AcheiveOne, which I want to try too... Sadly, DaVinci has stopped making the tiny sample size bottles of the s/f syrups. They are about 20 miles from us and they were running them the day we visited. We were pushing for more than the 7 s/f flavors, but they said because they had to be hand filled, they were thinking about d/c them. I guess they finally decided against them. Drat.

As far as I know, they make a bottle that is about half the size, just not those tiny ones about the size of nail polish.

I have found the Acheiv One in singles at Central Market, a division of HEB.  But I think they are only in Texas.  You might also try Whole Foods.  They are similar to Central Market.
