follow up to my insomnia post

Happy Independence Day to all! I wanted to post a follow up to an urgent plea I made last week regarding my insomnia problems, my problems with lack of cooperation with my doctors, etc.  Thank you to all that showed an interest and concern for me and this issue and thank you SO much for your words of advise and direction. I called my doctor's office and once AGAIN made a plea that I was not absorbing my meds. I followed that with "if the doctor does not know how to treat this, or how to proceed, please find me a doctor that does and can." (My doctor's nurse is wonderful!) She did do the leg work, made ONE phone call to a Bariatric center and I have an appt. for the 16th.  I had approached the center regarding taking me as a patient but, since I didn't not have their surgeon do my initial surgery they would not take me.  SO, when my nurse contacted them, she was told by a nurse there that "yes, this is a VERY common problem, we see it all the time, we treat it all the time, this should have been addressed sooner, etc." and gave my nurse the appt. time for me.  I guess suffering for almost three years, with an average of 3 to 4 hours a sleep a night, and constant anxiety attacks is long enough????? Sure hope so. I have to say that I find it very upsetting that apparently the medical establishment does not treat the gastric bypass patient and their unique cir****tances with much regard. AND, I also must say that IF a general practice doctor does not have the expertise in this field, I think it is little ask that they defer to a physician that does. I suggested that I might not be absorbing my medications NUMEROUS times to TWO doctors, both just shrugged their shoulders and made me feel like an imbucil.... So, thank you so much to those that helped me through yet another health care crisis! I feel that I should send YOU the money for my medical bills. Lord knows my doctors don't deserve it!
